:sl: I have dial-up and wanted to know is there any way to make it faster..... I cant event watch you-tube vieos people refer to because it takes like 20 mins for each one to load... help!:sunny:

Does this actually make your internet faster?

Even if you have Broadband already

Well bro it was actually designed to make speeds on broadband faster, so yeah :) I think it tweaks the networking interface and not the phone line itself, which makes it faster without really depending on the type of internet you have...:hmm:But I guess we don't really need to know that.

I just downloaded it and the problem is i gotta change to firefox.... and that was slow as.

So should i agree to change?

Another cool firefox user :coolious: Once you get firefox, I'll help you to make that faster as well insha'Allah. :D We'll send you the bill later. I don't give free advice to women...

Kidding :D

My computer stuffed up after installing it and is slower than ever.... jazakallah khayrun for the advice... i think you owe ME money now!:giggling:

sis if your on dial up it will take agesss to install firefox. i use firefox too and its faster than internet explorer.
the only thing i can suggest is to go on websites that have more text and less pictures because it will load faster. but i cant help you in watching youtube videos faster :S

:sl:

People who have Mozilla Firefox as their browser can download an add-on called 'Fasterfox' here.

A summary of it's features:

  • Performance and network tweaks for Firefox.
  • Fasterfox allows you to tweak many network and rendering settings such as simultaneous connections, pipelining, cache, DNS cache, and initial paint delay.
  • Dynamic speed increases can be obtained with the unique prefetching mechanism, which recycles idle bandwidth by silently loading and caching all of the links on the page you are browsing.
  • A popup blocker for popups initiated by Flash plug-ins is also included.
:w:

:salamext:

I'm staying well clear of Vista until another 5/10 years :-\

:sl:

lol yeah, don't think it's 5 years though...I say just wait until Service Pack 1 where they fix all the bugs and problems. :hmm: I'll keep you lot updated insha'Allah :D

They give it to the poor to make the poor, poorer imsad

Well im not that poor.... I cant even get this little problem fixed, and im working on opening up my own clothing web site:uhwhat Wat was i thinking????

Well what's stopping you? I made a clothing/tailoring site for my mum using blogspot.

Give it a try, you don't need much of a fast connection to do it...As far as I'm concerned.

Mashallah, thats great, but im actually using a company that have made up all different sites, and i can choose one then add all the info i need to, on it.

But i have started over and over again for reasons like my pics wont uplaod onto the site, or my head banner needs to be converted to, for example, a pdf file. Its annoying, you gotta have alot of time to fiddle around with it all.... Alhamdullah.

Oh right, complications. lol.

In that case can't you get someone else to do all the jobs that are heavy on bandwidth like uploading pictures etc. While you do stuff like adding the text. Or find somewhere there is a fast connection and use those computers for that. Like an internet cafe for instance.

Well i can use the library and take my USB with me.... can you checkout this site please: http://sitebuilder.hostdomain.com.au/wizard/index.php

This is the company im using to do my site with. So if i got to the library, for example, id have no trouble uploading this type of thing??

You don't need to upload to a USB for that  Isn't it one of those types of sites where you can just log in from anywhere and edit your site.

It did say:

So once you're at the library, just follow the link insha'Allah...Or am I missing something out here?

Yeah but i meant the pica i want to use from my own home computer, dont i have to put those on a USB, and then take that to the library, and upload them onto the site there? Cos its not working at my home. I do have a new computer, i just dont think i have the right programs for the job:confused:
