Hello everyone,
The other day I was reading a book about Islam, and in it said that Muslims say,"La 'Ilala Illah La" and i said it outloud a few times, just to pronounce it... I DO want to convert to Islam but I didn't want to just yet.. Have I done it already?! Thank you so much everyone.

Simply reading those words does not make you a muslim, there are many conditions that need to be applied along with those words for you to be considered a muslim.

So no, you haven't converted (yet:)).

Salam!

Lol. No, you don't convert simply by reading it out loud like you did - you have to have intention behind it. Otherwise, if it was that simple, there'd be a lot more converts :D

Although it is easy to become a Muslim, it is not that easy. You have to have full intent to be a Muslim, without that intent no matter how many times you say the Shahadah you will not be a Muslim.

Why you dont want to convert yet. You sound like you beleive and what happens if you die tonight . Sorry to sound so morbid, but whats stopping you. Peace

here are some useful lectures:

go to the bottom of this page and watch the Foundations of Islamic Studies by Bilal Philips:

this set of lectures by Jamal Zarabozo on Al Fatiha reveals alot about Islam:

and my favorite Shaykh, Mufti Ismail Menk! listen to his Tafseers or a specific topic lecture in the general lectures, they are very uplifting and informative. the Social Conduct series is very good as well:

May Allah[swt] guide you and make it easy on you!
