Hi Everyone!
I'm Star and I live in the Big Apple. I joined this forum so that I may learn about Islam. For 12 years I have been pagan with various degrees of devotion. The past year has had many beautiful moments but also alot of pockets of sadness and lonliness. I do my best to help others, and I try to be an honorable citizen. I believe what you send out comes back to you..but this hasn't worked for me.
I began to study Islam only a week ago but have read about it many times in the past, I picked it up again because I feel the Gods I have been worshipping don't hear me or are ignoring me..
Deep inside I still wonder how many Gods there are or if anyone cares about us at all. But with ALOT of prayers for guidance I am taking Islam more serious and bought a Qur'an yesterday..already many things have given me comfort. I dont know if I will convert as it is sooo hard to believe in anything, I was raised atheist to begin with so that compiled with everything else.. I will leave it to God to decide. Also, if anyone has suggestions I would *greatly* appreciate it. Thank you!

Welcome to LI Star.

You will find that many of us here are reverts and have faced the same issues and questions you now face. It is easy to revert to Islam, but it takes a lifetime to be a Muslim.

Islam is not a cure-all, yet it cures everything.

Islam will not change your life, but it can make great changes for you.

There is only one reason to revert, and that is to have a desire to serve Allaah(swt)-God(swt) with your fullest ability.

Feel free to post any and all questions you may have.

don`t rush take Islam step by step read about it and don`t make ur decision till u r so sure that u wana be a muslim and if want the real help raise ur hands and make a sincere prayers asking Allah for his guidance and say : O Allah if u r really there guide me coz I have no one to show me the right why but you ...

pray to God and put ur trust in him and he will never ever let you down trust me my precious sister ...

I suggest that in your own heart you make the intention of finding God and guidance.. I don't believe anyone who has ever made that sincere intent was ever turned down, starting with Abraham (PBUH) and just let the road take you to where you find a truth that satisfies and gives you peace...
