I am a Protestant Christian and I believe in the Bible and the Trinity.
in 2006 I received a DVD from a colleague on the debate between Zakir Naik and William Campbell on their debate in 2000 at Chicago University.
At that stage I was an atheist, and I thought the info from Zakir Naik was incredible, and I wanted to study the Quran in earnest. to learn this incredible science he spoke about.
I got to a Muslim bookshop, and bought 3 Quran translations, and was lucky to have found the book by Maurice Buchaille, "the Bible, the Quran, in relation of science."

2 weeks later I was disgusted about the claims made by Naik and Buchaille.
When I tried to get this supposed science from the Quran, I saw it was a huge construction of interpretations and assumptions.
For instance, Naik and Buchaille said the Quran knew the Moon reflected light, but the Bible did not.
I was disgusted at Maurice Buchaille when on p 133 of his book, he eventually gave excuses, and not facts.
He now says, “Agreed, this is nothing more than a verbal distinction, but how was one to communicate to men at this time without confusing them, while at the same time expressing the notion that the Sun and the Moon were not identical ‘lights’ ( The Quran the Bible and Science.P154 )

I wasted 2 weeks thinking theQiran had this incredible science, only to learn it was not true.

This was the turning point of my life!
I then did an intense study of the Quran, the Bible and science, and the end result was that I became a believer in Jesus Christ, my savior.

In other words, Zakir Naik made me a Christian.

I hope this Forum is a place where a Christian can ask Questions about the Quran, without being treated bad, and eventually getting banned.
I want to speak in this forum to Muslim scholars who can give me answers to Questions no Muslim scholar could do before.
Greetings.

Assalamu alaikum,
Hello,
You previously asked me a question why I used the term "reverted" to Islam, it is believed we are all born Muslim but it takes us some time to realise this as we may of been raised by our parents in a different religion or in another way.

It's taken me 51 years to realise what I've felt I've been missing most of my life, I'm finally where I am meant to be..that's why we use the term "revert" I hope that answered your question.

Welcome Martinus. Sometimes Muslims can give misinformation or may have wrong opinions. No one is perfect. I suggest you to listen to several Muslims and read several sources to have an opinion about certain subjects in Islam.

We will help for your questions but please note that we are all laymen. There is not a scholar here as far as I know. Finally, if mods think that you are prostelyzing Christianity or mocking Islam they most probably ban you. This is a strict forum

For the subject, I believe that we Muslims should be very carefull when talking about Bible. There is word of God in it. You might be crtisizing the word of God.

Hello,

You seem to have disregarded the whole of Dr Bucaille's book based upon a single sentence, which is very unscientific to say the least. You then claim this lead you to becoming a Christian, even though the Bible is shrouded in 'interpretations and assumptions'. In reality, a person's misguidance is due to the sickness in their own heart. Scholars like Dr Zakir Naik and Dr Bucaille can only show you the truth, but the divine accord to accept that truth comes from God.

It is also quite revealing that you are anticipating getting banned on the forum. If you are here to ask genuine questions, we might be able to help you. If you are here to insult your own intelligence by attempting to twist the meanings of our Scripture and make inappropriate comments about God, the consequence of that is already known to you.

Which Qur'an translation do you read brother? I read Mohsin Khan's translation.
