I am a Protestant Christian and I believe in the Bible and the Trinity.
in 2006 I received a DVD from a colleague on the debate between Zakir Naik and William Campbell on their debate in 2000 at Chicago University.
At that stage I was an atheist, and I thought the info from Zakir Naik was incredible, and I wanted to study the Quran in earnest. to learn this incredible science he spoke about.
I got to a Muslim bookshop, and bought 3 Quran translations, and was lucky to have found the book by Maurice Buchaille, "the Bible, the Quran, in relation of science."
2 weeks later I was disgusted about the claims made by Naik and Buchaille.
When I tried to get this supposed science from the Quran, I saw it was a huge construction of interpretations and assumptions.
For instance, Naik and Buchaille said the Quran knew the Moon reflected light, but the Bible did not.
I was disgusted at Maurice Buchaille when on p 133 of his book, he eventually gave excuses, and not facts.
He now says, “Agreed, this is nothing more than a verbal distinction, but how was one to communicate to men at this time without confusing them, while at the same time expressing the notion that the Sun and the Moon were not identical ‘lights’ ( The Quran the Bible and Science.P154 )
I wasted 2 weeks thinking theQiran had this incredible science, only to learn it was not true.
This was the turning point of my life!
I then did an intense study of the Quran, the Bible and science, and the end result was that I became a believer in Jesus Christ, my savior.
In other words, Zakir Naik made me a Christian.
I hope this Forum is a place where a Christian can ask Questions about the Quran, without being treated bad, and eventually getting banned.
I want to speak in this forum to Muslim scholars who can give me answers to Questions no Muslim scholar could do before.
Greetings.
