How can such beautiful things be so depressing?

Sounds similar to how a smell can bring back vivid memories and emotions, even if you can't actually recall a connection between the two... I think I know what you mean.

Not same. Smell a scent or heard certain sound could raise a memory. But I knew where and when I was there.

There are certain feelings that are stirred by images, sounds, or scents that I don't feel are associated with any particular memory, just the feeling itself. It's a bit strange, but wonderful at the same time. Also incredibly powerful.
