How Do I return? Will Allah accept me?

Speak to an english speaking imam at your local mosque. Keeping in contact with pious people ensures you stay on the correct path. May allah make it easy for us all to stay on the correct path. Aameen

Assalamualaikum warahmatullah,
Akhil kareem, you have to do alot of syukr cause Allah had given you hidayah(guidance) to make you came back to Islam. First you have to say more syukr and do amal shalihah to Allah cause He is with His love gave you guidance while He doesnt give it to lot of people beside you. Youre the chosen one, masha Allah. And me and our brothers here so so happy you choose to be muslim. So forget what have passed, and see straight to front ok abd be istiqomah. And you have to make taubah nashuha, and you may not do something like it anymore. And especially you MAY not leave salah (prayer). We muslim MUST know that Rasulullah shalallahu alaihi wasallam said "someing that make us different from kafereen is salah, so everyone leave salah then he is kafeer", and also He said;"one thing that a muslim do cause him to be kafeer, that is leaving salah". And according to opinion of ulama such as Ibnu Abbas ra, Ibnu MAs'ud ra, Umar ibnul Khattab ra, Imam Ahmad and etc, leaving salah is kafeer. Althought theres different opinion about this matter such as Imam Syafi'i said that theyre not kafir but they have to be killed by the Islamic government, still we have to realize the danger of leaving salah. And me personally hold the opinion that its kafeer to leave salah. And syaikh Muhammad bin Shalih Al Uthaymeen, our Ulama of Islam, said thats kafeer to leave salah. If a husband leave salah, and the wife salah, then theyre automatically divorced cause muslimah not halal for non muslim. And someone who leave salah not buried in the grave of muslims, and theyre not deserved to salah mayit when theyre death, and they dont deserve heritance rom their parent cause theyre not muslim anymore and muslim dont inherite non muslim, and they dont deserve du'a from muslims all over the world. So bro Paul, I think you didnt know about this all right? And I hope its not counted as your sins cause three things thats not counted as a sin, those are:we forget, we dont know, and we sleep. And now since you already know the ruling of salah then we may not leave salah even once, and the best salah is when we do it in the start of the time. So brother, yes, like our brothers said above, you have to say syahadah again(I suggest you say the syahadah after salah jumuah (friday prayer) in front of people, and take a bath, and you must taubah and promisethat you will nver do the same thing anymore in the future. And like our bros said above that Allah will accept with your taubah. In hadits qudsi said that if you walk one step to Allah thn Allah will take two step to welcome you, if you take a walk to Allah then Allah will come to you with running. Masha Allah, Allah the most mercifull, He loves you my bro, He loves us all thats why He guide us to Islam and make us istiqomah on it, walhamdulillah. And after you renew your syahadah, you should learn about Islam more. You ever fell away from Islam cause you never try to learn more about it. And Rasulullah said "my people who afraid Allah most are ulama". Why? Cause the ulama know more about Islam, so thats why they afraid more to Allah than us. So we should learn more about Islam, and its a must, wajib to all of us. Rasulullah said "study islam is wajib on every muslims". I recommend you this website www.salafipublications.com. And then brother Paul -hafidhakallah- you should search the muslims environment which can make you more istiqomah, steady with your iman. Looking for muslims friend, gathering with them. And dont be too close to your non muslims friends. Cause Rasulullah said " dien of someone depends on his friends dien", and also he said:"make a friend to someone who is bad is like make a friend to steelworkers, if we dont get burn then we will acquire the burning smell. MAke a friend to someones good is like make a friend to perfume seller, eventhough we dont touch the perfume then we will still have the smell". My bro, I love you because of Allah. So let study more about Islam, ok. May Allah make us istiqomah on this right path, amin

Hadith Qudsi 34:

On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) say: Allah the Almighty said:

O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great at it.

It was related by at-Tirmidhi (also by Ahmad ibn Hanbal). Its chain of authorities is sound.

Subhanallah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

assalaamu alaykum,

can we remember that Paul is very new to islam and will most likely not understand complicated arabic terms?

if you use such terms then please supply a translation in brackets,

jazakallah khairan (may Allah reward you with good) for your help for the brother though,

assalaamu alaykum,
Daw'ud

is nice to hear that you're coming back...(to Islam). I hope all muslims are like you... not arrogant and always want to repent.

Dear friends

Last October I took my shahada, but I now realise that my heart was not completely in it and I didn't pray. I fell away from Islam. I have come from a very committed Christian background, but I discovered Islam by chance (so to speak!). I never intended to become a Muslim, but felt pressured by friends to make a commitment.

Since last year I have come to a growing realisation that I cannot go back to Christianity because Jesus was not God, and Paul gave us the Christianity we have today - which is not the religion of Jesus. Islam is such a beautiful religion. I want to come back. I know I have to repent and start praying. Is it really that straightforward? If I am sincere will Allah forgive me? Is there a ritual prayer or wudu I would have to perform?

Paul :)

:salamext:
u r returned brother

and in the case of mercy of Allaah.......
well Allaah is most~(Actually I don’t recognize any word which is appropriate)
Merciful. We all cry for His mercy and He is the most~ Merciful

Make shahada again and
try to discover Islam brother
u will find ur destiny insAllaah

May Allaah guide us all......

Brother Paul, if you feel realisation and you feel that islam is a beautiful religion then Subhanallah you have come back to the true religion, Islam. :)

this reminds me of the hadith where there was a man who had killed 99 people and then he wanted to repent. he went to a scholar and asked him whether Allah will still forgive him after all his sins. the scholar said that there was no chance, and out of anger the man killed this scholar too.
now he had killed 100 people.

then he found another scholar and asked him whether it was too late to ask forgiveness since he had killed 100 people. this scholar was more knowledgable and told him that yes, if he sincerely asked for Allah's forgiveness Allah would forgive him. but the scholar advised him that he should leave his hometown as there were only evil influences there and to move somewhere else where the people did not know him and start anew.

so the man repented and set out on his journey but on the way he fell from his mount and died. when this happened an angel from hell and an angel from heaven both came to take his soul. there was a disagreement between the angels- the angel from hell argued that the man had killed 100 people and hadn't ven started his new life yet so he should go to hell.
the angel from heaven said that he had asked forgiveness and was on his way to a new life.

Allah told them to measure the distance of his journey. if he was closer to the land he had just left then the angel from hell could take his soul.
but if he was closer to the land he was going to then the angel from heaven could take him.

the man was obviously closer to the land he'd just left but Allah out of His mercy stretched the land to make him closer to his destination, and so the angel from heaven took him. subhanallah!

it's funny isn't it? those who are born into islam do not even nearly appreciate how lucky they are but those who revert know what kufr feels like so they follow islam more than people who are born into it...

Allah accepts sincere repentance... that's really how simple it is. Most of us born Muslims weren't practicing all our life anyway. I myself decided to start practicing at the age of 13, and alhamdulillah i have committed ever since.
