i am wondering how to pronounce muslims names properly. i want to know how arabic speaking people say them.

the name Rayan. does it sound lke Rye-in or Ray-ann or Rye-on...?

Soufiane?

Hicham?

Mikaeel?

Faris?

Mika'il?

faris ( like ferris bueler's day off) (never watched it) :-[ but faris in Arabic denotes 'knight'

same as mi'ka'eel above as in the angel

hrm....this is more confusing than i though. i'm not sure what aa means

and raiian is even more confusing to me .......so is it

Spelt as ريان? Then you'd pronounce it as: Rayaan.



سفيان Would be: Suf-yaan



فارس : Faa-ris

Wallaahu a'lam.


Isn't the ist one pronounced as Rehan (for males) and Rehana (for females) ??

And what about Faaris, is this an Arabic word ??
 
Rayan = Rai-yan or Rayyan
in arabic ريان there is a "shaddah" on "y" which reads as letter "ي" , I dont know the english word for it but it looks like this in arabic " ّ "

Soufiane = Suf-yan

Hicham = He-sham

Mikaeel and Mika'il = Me-ka-eel

Faris = Fa-ris
