How does a young man get a house without a mortgage?

I've noticed alot of sisters demand their own accomodation, however I'm wondering how is a young man in his 20s supposed to buy a house without taking a mortgage out? Is he supposed to work untill he is 30 and has enough money to buy a house and then get married?

I know some will say rent but what if he see's renting as dead money, wouldn't it be better to stay somewhere rent free and use the money you would have spent on rent to buy a house on cash after say 10-15 years?

I just can't understand why women demand a house when there's no way for a man to buy one without taking a mortgage. Can someone maybe explain how it's done? Maybe there's a trick I don't know about.
 
you get together, execute all the usurers, then the prices of accommodation shoots down as there is less fake money chasing it, the prices of goods goes down, you applaud obama and cameron on their fighting spirits, buy them an ak47 each, send them to the front line in kandahar, bring all the troops home, and then borrow $2000 off dad, another $3000 can be earned easily in a non debt riddled economy which is not controlled by usurers whose interest it is to have everyone poor and in need of loans, and buy the house cash! :shade:
 
I hate to break it to you akhi but you can be well in your thirties and still not afford a house, anyhow, many people rich and poor rent.. do you ever actually own a house when you're paying for it 20+ years plus cost of maintenance and all other added expense? and if your family grows or you get a job elsewhere you're bound by your mortgage..There is nothing wrong with living in a lofty apt. I think it is better to be poor and free than in debt with the dream of ownership which for many unfortunately is never realized.. the capitalist system is designed so that there is power and money in the hands of a few elite while others pay with their youth blood sweat and tears chasing the illusion of that 'American dream' or British one depending on demographics and they never realize it.. so they 'raise the debt ceiling' or perhaps your off spring inherit that debt to no end..

amazing - how the american dream and american reality are SO DIFFERENT, but yes, i would suggest saving up some money and moving to palestine where we can establish a usury free economy.

I was 30 before I moved out of my parents' house.

Of course, I am now 35 with a mortgage and credit card debt that I am struggling to pay. I've considered moving back home because some months I am barely making it after paying bills.

Disclaimer: This was long before I knew anything about Islam.

True, rent is dead money you are just paying someone elses mortgage. Saving up for a house is probably impossible as property usually goes up in cost faster than any investments except gold for now. A mortgage is really the only practicle way. If you buy a house cheap on a low interest loan you can profit by the fact the house is constantly increasing in value, the bank is getting a raw deal in some cases. It is also best to get a property with some land as land values increase quite fast.
The reason why females want their husbands to own property is for security, they don't want to have a family without a secure home they can be proud of. They would rather marry an old guy that offers financial security and a home than a young guy that has nothing to his name.
 
I'll probably end up getting one of those HSBC Amanah mortgages, I don't really care if people think they're not fully islamic - atleast I tried to stay away from riba

Something that I have learned in IB is difference between Pakistani and Indonesian culture in marriage. In Pakistani culture, the husband take and brings the wife to his side. And if they don't have a house for living, they live in the husband parent's house. In Indonesia, the husband moves to the wife side. If they don't have a house, they live in the wife parent's house.

Like I said, that's Indonesian culture. In Indonesia many rich parents buy houses for their daughters. So, if you find an Indonesian husband who lives in a big house and manage a business company, don't be shocked when you know those house and company were actually given by his wife parent. Even in Indonesia we recognize a type of men that called "cowok matre" (materialist guy). Men who marry rich women for wealth.

Of course husbands are expected to live in his own house. But not every husband afford to buy or rent a house.



By the way, I am not "cowok matre", my wife was coming from poor family and lived in very small house in slum area. But like tradition in Indonesia, after wedding I lived in her parent house for few days before move to my own house. And how could I have a house in my young age ?. Alhamdulillah, like I said in my previous post, rich parent. Now my duty is try to buy houses for my sons, and I hope I can.

Sorry if this post seem like a 'show off', but I just want to show what the parent should do for their kids. :)

I think any parent just wants a better life for their kids than what they had. I don't have kids, but that's what my parents always told me growing up.
 
i am thirty married and still live with parents, clueless.
also lost my job...again, the second day into ramahdan lol

rich parents,
hard work,
friends and family you can borrow of.

you would still need to have saved an lot to even stand a chance.

anyway best of luck for the future and remain thankful for what you have in this month.
 
i never thought that a man in his 20s would need to find his own shelter until i came across the western culture.. what i knew was a man can live in his parents house until his own children are grown up and demands for a separate house.^o)

I was 30 before I finally decided that it was time to go my own way and move out of my parents' house. That's not that uncommon here in the US, especially now with a bad economy and a weak housing market. A lot of adult children are moving back home now because of this.

Until his own children are grown up ?. It's means he has a wife.

Sister, don't you know how many sisters here complain "I don't want to live with my in-laws". Wives are objected if they must live with parent in-law. But if husbands live with parent in-law ?.

I knew a lazy husband who lived with his parent in-law although he didn't have an job. And instead looking for a job he was looking for another woman and married again. I heard this news when I seek a name for my cat. So, I named my cat with his name as appreciation for a special guy who could live without brain. :D
 
You just have to hustle. I'm in my thirties and I can't afford a house. That's partially my fault, but if the economy hadn't tanked then I might be in a better situation.

in society i have been brought up a man can live with his parents even many years after marriage until he gets a good reason to get a separate home.. and a demand of a separate home before or just after marriage from a woman is not considered good.. thats why here a girl is mentaly prepared to live with in laws before marriage.
actually the family system in subcontinent is still very strong although it has been going through many revolutions presently.. still here we have families having many married children living with parents.. i do find many benefits of it.. i love this family system..

and a husband living in parents in law house.. sory but i would say how can a man leave his own parents and go and live with his in laws.. i would not call him a man.. unless he has some good reason for that...
 
A good pious sister doesn't ask you to afford a place on your own but she will ask you wat ever you do please be within the limits of islam
