what you say is true; but then again, its easier said then done.
It's permissible in Islam and has specific requirements, but anyway, I doubt many men would be able to provide for more than one family.
The brothers who marry more than one woman are imposing double the load/responsibilty on themselves; and truthfully said, in these times, I don't think many have the capacities to maintain and
equally provide for each of their wives' household.
I believe it is the intention behind your husband desiring to marry another woman which cuts the deepest. Lets say he had the ability and money to provide for many women,and he chose to marry a woman(a second one) who..I don't know, lost her husband in the war, as someone had mentioned. Then,maybe you could understand. But if it was simply because he desired many wives, then I think that will hurt the initial wife; no matter what.
Please remember that we are only human beings; women have
emotions ; which is NOT something you can control.You can understand something and agree with it;but if it pains your heart well then you can't deny it,your only human.
