I want to learn more about Islam, from groups which do not deviate into sects, but which follow the Qur'an and Sunnah. I am lacking in knowledge, and I just wanted to know what sites or sources I should go to......jazakallaha khair

One advice I would give inshallah is to check the aqeedah of the ones you are learning from. Look at their background and see if they can be trusted with authentic information dissemination. We have lot of celebrity sheikhs these days and very popular among the youths but they are either on the wrong aqeedah, has weak aqeedah or are in sheeps clothing will-fully misleading the ummah.

I like reading the stories of the prophets. They all tell us ways to please the Almighty. Some tell us of the origins of things and how Satan infiltrates into our lives.

Allah is consistent in His message and in reading about them, it reinforces the basics and it helps us understand many passages in the Quran that refers to their story. There are plenty.

If those prophets, via their story 'speaks' to you, they would have delivered a worthy message. A message surely not deviant in the ways of Allah.

greenhill have you seen the series "Stories of the Prophets" by Yusuf Estes? They are on Youtube and very enjoyable. They're geared toward kids but there's benefit for all ages.

Try the free diploma in islamic studies at Islamic online university

You can take the free classes at IOU without a high school diploma. I am studying there too, but I have only just started which is why I did not recommend it off the bat; I can't actually give a review of it past the classes for very new muslims.
