How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone? duno if dis workz but ere goes...

Mobile users - Suppose your cell phone is stolen. What will you do?

Here are some tips. Read it. Please forward it to as many people you can.

How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?

A bit of useful information. Just in case you happen to lose your
mobile or it gets flogged.

To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following
digits on your phone:

* # 0 6 #

A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to
your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe.

Should your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and
give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so
even if the thief changes the SIM card your phone will be totally

useless.

You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that
whoever stole it can't use/sell it either.

If everybody did this, there would be no point in stealing mobile
phones.

Friends of mine were eating at Nandos once and some 2 refugees, young boys, came in and they had an A4 size paper with writing on it saying "Please donate some money" while saying "please sir, please!" :( . Any way they donated what they could spare, and 1/2 hour later one of them realised they can't find their phone!
They covered his phone which was placed on the table with the A4 size paper and one of them snatched it from underneath! Quite daring and skilled they were I must say as there was quite a few of my friends around at the time and they didn't notice a thing :omg:

^^ oh no i seen dat done on 'the real hustlers!' i swear dat programme teaches more ppl 2 do d rong stuff lol

Hate to say but a "locked" phone can easily be unlocked so that wouldn't work for very long :(

Btw people who steal phones can switch the phone off so you can't disable it and I heard you have to disable it within 24-48 hours? :(

LOL nope!!! My hubby is a cell phone agent here in the USA. He has unlocking machines and stuff for people who have phones that are locked (only takes certain carriers) so they can use his service provider:D
