Alright this is my opinion and using my common sense but here goes: if u have wronged someone, like actually wronged someone eg lying about not taking their money, then tell them and fix the solution. Thats infringing on their rights then.
If its gonna make things( the relationship between the 2 ppl) worst then dont. This is a stupid example- you lied about to your wife was about her being a "chubby", and you knew it was gonna cause animosity between you id not tell. Repent and try and not lie again. I follow the same principles for backbiting
