I have a new laptop, but I'm using the old one at the moment. On my new laptop, there is web cam installed. How to I remove it?

I went on device manager, went on imaging and uninstalled the webcam but it was automatically restored when I logged on. How to I permanently remove the web cam?

if you're worried someone might hack into it, stick some bluetack on it :D

As'Salaamu Alaaykum

i dont think there is any way you can un-install it, since its built into the laptop. so as bro Aadil adviced, should work insha'Allaah..

I've been told someone can hack only through msn but i dont believe that..

hope some pc experts reply insha'Allaah.

Salaam,

Thanks! Also how should I take care of the laptop battery? :/ I checked on the internet and I got all sorts of conflicting responses. The laptop manual does not even mention anything about it.

Salaam,

You have to first check in your add/remove programs. there will be a software available for your webcam, first uninstall it. and reboot the system. see if this solves the issue. if not then you have to goto start run and type ' msconfig '. A new window will open in that goto startup tab and uncheck the digicam item and give ok. it will ask for a restart . go for it and the problem is solved.

Salaam,

I sorted the camera problem. I didn't want some of my younger relatives to use the laptop inappropriately. <_<

Anyway, how should one take care of the battery? I mean shall I start charging the laptop when it is at 40% or leave it till it reaches 0% and then start charging? Got in contact with PC world and they were clueless.

I think some people take the battery out when connnected to an outlet for long periods of time ( therby protecting the battery when not in use) the downside is that if the cable comes out you'll lose all your work :hmm:

if you're keeping the laptop in the same place all the time, best thing to do is remove the batttery and keep it plugged

if not then only charge once battery is almost dead
