Assalamu Alaikum.

I know the title sounds ridiculous, but hear me out! I'm a Sunni muslim and I often go on Instagram Reels when I'm bored. But since Ramadan has started, this video of a blond boy (about 10-13) has gone semi-viral (?). He's a Shia muslim. He's singing a song about Imam Ali and the men in the crowd are hitting themselves.

It is LITERALLY STUCK IN MY HEAD and I'm trying SO HARD to get it out because it just feels haram!! And it's RAMADAN!

I am not here to start an argument over Shia VS Sunni, but I just need to know if having this song stuck in my head is haram (especially if it's shirk). This is such a specific and weird situation that I couldn't find anything online.

I could've asked this on Reddit but.... Reddit mods are absolutely ridiculous. I'm 99% sure I would've gotten my post removed on there.

wa Alaikum Assalam

Try listening to Qur'an and nasheeds to replace that song. It takes some time but eventually it will fade when you keep yourself busy with other things.

I do not recommend it but if it is to erase the song you have and replace it with something else: search 'Ilyas Anzor' on Youtube. It's Chechens doing dhikr in a ... wild way. I once listened to it and had "La Ilaha Illallah" stuck on repeat for 24 hours. A fortunate thing coming out of the unfortunate (watching/listening to the video).
