Even though I didn't understand arabic and didn't know the meaning. That was a lot of memorization.

Now I have the urge somewhat to rememorize them but at the same time its like is there any point? I don't fully understand only some words. Would I get reward even if I don't understand?

Assalamu alaikum

You know Arabic or not, you can still do. Reading , listening, memorizing, understanding the quran are all deeds for which will get rewarded .

Be positive. Make loads of duaa and read the Surahs which you have memorized before. Repeat them as many times as you can . Do a set portion for the day and be consistent. Do not leave revsing as you are doing new Surah hifdh..

Regarding understanding the quran , its a vwry good thing especially for people who dont understand Arabic. But dont let that be a reason for you to delay hifdh(memorization)

Make a timetable setting time for memorization, revision and to read the translations and explanations (or you can hear the tafseer ) to understand the Quran.

Benefits of Memorisation of the Quraan

1. Hadhrat Abdullah ibn Abbaas (Radhiallaahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, He in whose heart there is no part of the Quraan is like a deserted house.

2. Uthmaan (Radhiallaahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, The most superior amongst you is he who learns the Quraan and teaches it.

3. Verily, Allah Taala has a family amongst man. The Sahaaba (Radhiallaahu Anhum) asked, Who are they, O Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam).? Nabi (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) answered, The people of the Quraan are the family of Allah and his special servants. (Ibn Majah)

In another narration, it is mentioned that he who learns the Quraan and practices upon it, on the day of Qiyaamat his parents would be made to wear a crown which will outshine the sun, if the son had to be in our homes of this Dunya. Nabi (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) then asked that what is your thought concerning the learner himself.. (Abu Dawud)
