Dear brothers and sisters,
I was wondering what would be the attitude of a believer man or woman towards marriage and what attributes should one be looking in their to be spouses.

Answer to Q: As far as attributes both wife and husband have rights over each other but if im wrong may someone correct me indeed.

When you are in search of a spouse the main things you should look at is the piety of one, whoever is best in the religion indeed.

InshaAllaah this hadeeth helps :

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

"A man marries a woman for four reasons: for her property, for her rank, for her beauty, and for her religion (and character). So marry the one who is best in the religion and character and prosper".

its really up to you. the key to finding the right spouse is knowing what you want by marrying them/by entering a marriage. so ask yourself what do you want from a marriage and what do you want from a wife? balance this up with what you can give and offer to your marriage and spouse because its not right or even of common sense to take and not give.
