....fear allah in regards to your children and teach yourselves islam so that you can teach them Islam. make sure that your home is of Islamic environment so that if your child is religious or wants to become religious they dont have to be in battle with you or feel bad that they are going against you. fear allah in regards to your children so that they dont grow up hating you for not teaching them islam...if you dont teach them, one day they will inshallah wake up for thier sinful life and when they do, they will realize the burden of sins they are carrying and if you haven't taught them any better, guess who the blame will be on?

beware of disobeying allah and making your children do so all for the sake of "keeping up appearances" and for the sake of pleasing others.

bottom line: ensure that your home is an Islamic one, so that they feel comfortable practicing and worshiping Allah.

May Alla bless you for this reminder i myself have a few kids and this is important that we do the prophet said “The best among you is the one that learns the Qur’aan and then teaches it.”
he also said “ Every one of you ( people) is a shepherd . And every one is responsible for whatever falls under his responsibility ...... A man is like a shepherd of his own family , and he is responsible for them” This Hadith is reported by both Bukhari and Muslim. so we see we are responsible for raising them and teaching them islam and we will be asked about this

Allah sayings
“ And those who believe and whose families follow them in faith , to them shall We join their families : Nor shall We deprive them ( of the fruit) of aught of their works : (Yet) is each individual in pledge for his deeds.” 25:21
