Im thinking of joing the coast guard, is it haram?

im thinking of joining the coast guard but i am not sure if it is halal or not. they are not killing muslims only rescuing ppl or stopping drug dealers.
in the coast guard they give you a lot of college money and really good benefits. they wont really care if im muslim but how should i pray when i go to boot camp if we are going to be busy 24/7 doing training and other stuff

im looking for any ones opinion jazakallahakir
 
it sounds really cool......im sure they can make exceptions in boot camp as far as prayers and stuff go right?
 
Is being in the Coast Guard like being in Baywatch?

Just as long as it stays within the boundary of Islam I do not see any reason why not to join it.

no coast guard is not like baywatch. i think it does stay within the boundry of islam. it is only boot camp i am concerned about because i might miss prayers. do you think i could modify them? remmeber i will only get 5 hours of sleep a day and have to do a lot of running and traning. no time for rest do u see what i mean?

As long as you can do normal stuff islam requires you then its halal and as long as the money and stuff you're doing isn't haraam then i think its halaal. Astagfurillah forgive me if im wrong
 
im sure they can excuse you for salaah it isnt such a big deal is it? i mean its like 5 times a day for 5 minutes(your doing your fardh)
