Thats where the beauty is mst, cause they mis-pronounce it, it just shows how much taqwa they have, if you know what i mean.

salam
how can there be beauty in mis-pronouncing which could change meanings? if they mis-pronounce or make mistakes then they tend to correct themselves, taqwa doesn't have to be shown by mis-pronounciatation

Yep i knew it....You got the wrong-end-of-the-stick. discussion closed

I see where this is going. Sheikh Sa'ud al-Shuraim learnt a different style of tajweed to Sheikh Abdur-Rahman al-Sudais. Sudais uses a style where he exerts a lot from the throat and nose, wherease Shuraim uses a style where he does not use his nose a lot. I teach tajweed and I have a lot of students who try to copy Sudais. They tend to recite solely with their nose and so the sound is changed. This is not serious, but changing words and making mistakes without correcting oneself is, as it can lead to the meaning being changed.
Wassalam

salam
i thought Sheikh Shuraim uses his nose alot, coz he recites some words as if he is reciting through is nose but as you are a tajweed teacher then you would know bro
i see that it is easier to imitate Sheikh Sudais but why is it harder to imitate Sheikh Shuraim?
wasalam

Salam
Do you think it is harder to imitate Sheikh Shuraim. I always thought it was the easier of the two. I imitate Sheikh Mishary al-Afasy. When he left Madinah, i had only just started. As we had the same tajweed teacher, i remember him quite well. Nobody would have guessed that Sheikh Mishary would have gone on to make such a name for himself and become the main imam in the grand masjid of kuwait.
Wassalam

salam
mashallah sheikh mishary is a great imam, but i see many people imitate Sheikh Sudais very well but not Sheikh Shuraim, maybe his style is more difficult to imitate, but mashallah both SS and SAS have two completely different tunes that complement each other and suits one another

Salam.
Ill tell you why not many people want to imitate sheikh shuraim. I find it strange, but they dont seem to like his voice. A lot of my students are like that. They only like Sheikh Sudais. But that is up to them.
You should come along, bro. You come across to me as a very good recitor (I only know by what you know about the imams) and you obviously like sheikh shuraim).

how long has it been since SS last led prayer in the haram? apart from fajr?
wasalam

as rara or mamsoo sed, it was around 15th jan....

why ? :-\

JUST ?
i know :-\

p.s : Who led isha ? SST ?

i missed :(

:sl:

Arwa said it.

Innit man.. you're always saying where is Sheikh Shuraim? Why can't he lead? Why has Sheikh Salih al Talib done 2nd week in a row? May Allah always protect Sheikh Salih al Talib and the rest of the imams. :'(

:sl:

Does it really, reallly matter who leads when? I mean, you can't expect Sheikh Shuraim to lead all the salaah all the time. And you can't expect Sheikh Taalib to lead all the salaah all the time. They take turns, and we should be happy to listen to whoever leads..

But posting :-\ because Sheikh Shuraim doesn't lead at a specific point isn't fair on the other imaams.

And its great that you all have favorites and think Sheikh Shuraim is better then Sheikh Taalib, or Sheikh Sudais is better then Sheikh Shuraim, etc. But lets stick to reality, and accept the fact that they are all unique. None of them are better then the other, they each have to appreciated in different ways. Variety is the spice of life ya know. Think about it, wouldn't it be just a biitttt strange to have 6 imaams in the Masjid al Haram all reciting the same. :p

Just a general reminder to all, including myself. :sister:

*does a runner*

Oh yeah, i Haram, I'll do that as soon as my homework is done toniiiight inshaAllah. :offended: <-- What is up with that nutty face. :rollseyes

Sheikh Saud ash Shuraim led Fajr today. :shade:

Assalaamoalaikum

this imam is the man >> they should appoint him for Haramain or somethin..
btw. anyone who guesses who this imam is....
may Allah bless that person with a beautiful pious spouse and beautiful saleheen pious kids..

Salam
I think the imam is Sheikh Isa Bin Ahmad al-Ajmy, and if the name sounds familiar, its because he is the son of the late Sheikh Ahmad Bin Ali al-Ajmy, the former imam of the Prophets Mosqe in Madinah.

mashallah cool ercitation
yes i think people like me should appreciate these imams, and i am grateful that i have the oppurtunity to listen to such gifted and blessed imams, so i will appreciate the recitations of any imams, but as most people do, i have my favourite and that is Sheikh Shuraim so it is natural for me t want to listen to his recitation. i hope i don't cause any trouble
jazakallah

they dont like sheikh shuraims voice????????:? :? :?
he has the bestestestestest voice on earth...n may ALLAH always keep it dat way.AMEEN.

salam
even though i agree that sheikh shuraim has the best voice, it is wiser to accept all the recitations of the imams as equal because the imams amongst themselves would most likely to think the other is better than himself
wasalam

Salam
My favourite reciter is Qari Mishary Bin Rashid al-Afasy, although when i ocasionally lead fajr or when i lead tahajjud in ramadan, i used my shuraim tone.
Wassalam

lolllll.even i try 2 imitate sheikh shuraims tone.....in my girly voice,haha.
