Yes, you're right, but in madinah they dont usually recite surah al-kawthar for one rak'ah alone. They usually join it with another.

Since you brought up Sheikh Juhany's name.. I was thinking about ramadhan 2005.. I very much enjoyed his recitation masha'Allah.. beautiful.

Sheikh Abdullah al-Juhany speaks English very fluently. In Ramadan 2005 he made his taraweeh debut in makkah. He may be coming over to the haram in makkah very soon.

Really? He led in ramadan, but i think he's comfortable in madinah with his mansion and wives. Sheikh Juhany needs the move, he's always changing between the prophet's masjid and masjidul-quba. The thing with Sheikh Juhany is he is so tense when he recites. He's not like the others who relax a lot more. maybe its because it was his first taraweeh in makkah

hehe.. I wouldn't be surprised if he was tensed.. after al it is Masjid al Haram.. need I say more. :wub:

am not a fan of SJ, but he is inexperienced on the big stage, imams like SAS, SS and SB are experienced
i remember as days went on SST grew in confidence in 2003 mashallah

It feels really different even praying near the leading spot, let alone leading the prayer there.

Sheikh Subbayal didn't lead any jumuah salaah's last year did he? When was the last time he lead the eid prayer?

Sheikh Subayyal is quite old now. I dont think he'll done any more jumu'ahs, although i could be wrong.
Ive got a very bad quality adhan of sheikh juhany in madinah. Ill try and upload it (that's if i can find it) - im off now, be back on in a while

Are you talking about duas for themselves or like in the mic?

Quiet a while back.. can't remember when lol, you probably remember though that Sheikh Salih bin Humaid went to Pakistan and lead the jumuah prayer in Faisal Masjid? (You better remember cos I told you lot. :rollseyes ) lol. Also, that day Sheikh Shuraim lead jumuah prayer in Makkah. :)
After Sheikh Salih bin Humaid led the actually salaah, he turned towards the people in congregation (as sunnah) and he did dua in the mic. :) He also prayed for bakistan and it's progress. :p

Masha'Allah the masjid was packed. :)
