I doubt my memory and my ears when I hear Sh Sudais making a mistake, lol. But he corrected so quickly, I am sure not many would have noticed it.

Me too... when I heard it, I was like ^o) isn't that wrong? then I just said to myself, maybe I'm wrong, but then he did correct it, so it was a mistake anyway....
He corrects it so calmly though, as if he didn't make any mistake :p

:sl:

Very true mashAllah i think sheikh sudais is like one of the best in the haramain when it comes to hifdh MashAllah may Allah reward him. As you said mashAllah so calm even he recognised that something was wrong !.

:w:

^The locals call it "I7raamul Ka3bah" .... I think it's cool :p

There's a video a few pages back of a man being interviewed and talking about Sheikh Sudais (and Sheikh Muaiqly) - did he just meet Sheikh Sudais in Masjidul Haraam and is describing what it was like to meet him?

Ok, here goes a bit of translation

Sheikh Abdur Rahmaan as Sudais offers Sheikh Naasir al Qataamy to lead Maghrib in al Haramul Makkiyy - Tuesday 29/10/1432

The presenter asks Sheikh Naasir to elaborate on the incident with Sheikh Sudais...

One day I was in the Haram.... I was being hosted by, Allah protect him, Sheikh Maahir Mua'yqali. We were sitting after Asr in the palace, Safa Palace, we only entered the Haram before Maghrib. Sheikh Sudais came there (palace) and it was a great, impressive sight because his father was with him and he was kissing him and bidding him farewell. The driver dropped his father off at the haram and Sheikh (Sudais) was to go with the guards. The first incident was the incident of Sheikh Maahir with Sheikh Sudais. Sheikh Maahir insisted on kissing the head of Sheikh Sudais although both of them are Imams of al Haramul Makkiyy and they are who they are - famous, Allah keep them steadfast - so he insisted.... His (Sudais') smile is well-known.... and then he greeted me and met me and it was the first time I met Sheikh Sudais. We left for the Haram... they allowed me to stand in the first Saff behind the Imam. The Imam, before the salaah stays in the Hateem (Hijr) and performs Nafl/Sunnah salaah and then he exits when it's time for salaah... so we stayed in the Hijr for a while and he (Sudais) was kind, good-mannered and forgiving, may Allah reward him... so much so, one old person making tawaaf, Sheikh saw him from the Hijr so suddenly Sheikh stood up and the guards thought what hapenned? - maybe Sheikh needs the bathroom, but he saw this old man outside the Hijr making tawaaf and all the people were making tawaaf and he exited the Hijr to greet him, then he entered the Hijr. The Iqaamah started so Sheikh stood up and... this incident Subhanallah I will never forget, I don't think I can forget it.... so he stood and said proceed respected Sheikh (Tafadhal fadeelatash shaikh) so I'm looking, there's no one next to me or anything, like what do you mean? proceed to where? so we left and entered the Mihraab... now finished - no one can look at his phone, no one can talk, no one can call out Sheikh I need something... no, only after salaah... finish, now salaah has been established... so what do you think about the Haram? ... you left the Hijr and the athaan fills the Haram with Iqaamah and the people are getting ready for salaah and the tawaaf stops and some of the people making tawaaf are shouting Sudais, Sudais, Sheikh Sudais!..... A majestic situation.. and I am behind him... so he turns around at that moment.. I wondered now what?... He said I'm taking off the bisht, I'll give it to you and you go proceed...I just said "bisht?!" and the bisht fell from my hands also... then he went to lead and the salaah was beautiful and devout and even after the salaah, with his good manners and greeting before going to lead the Janaazah Salaah... I said to the people when they heard the news... that this incident, I am young and they are senior,..........

Sheikh Naasir then goes on to explain that he won't forget the incident. He explains that people are remembered more for their actions than their words.

The second half of the video is questions about Sheikh Qataamy himself, his masjid, his videos on youtube, him dreams or wishes to be imam of haram, if any .. etc..

Hope this translation is understandable... it's a bit difficult to write down spoken words like this...

Even though I don't understand every word, I think this is so awesome!

http://www.mazameer.com/vb/t145167.html

What is that?

It's a poem written by Dr. Abdur Rahmaan Ashmaawy as a gift to Sheikh Sudais, praising him...

Here's a rough translation:

When I Heard you Reciting
Dr. Abdur Rahmaan Ashmaawy
02/09/1432, Makkah Mukarramah, Plains of the honourable Haram

1. When I heard you reciting the mushaf -- I feel like the world has become emotional/ affectionate/ compassionate

2. And I feel that the horizen becomes a pearl -- white, bestowing me the whiteness of the letters (alphabets)

3. And I feel that the earth has become an oasis -- green, bestowing me a fluttering wing

4. When I heard you reciting, conveying -- I renew my knowledge, as if I did not know

5. Your recitation is the flutes those which -- were bestowed to the noble prophet Dawood

6. The rhythm of your voice is in the ears of my soul -- the rhythm of the sound of water to the eager ones

7. When I walked in the recitation, it befriended me -- not a spring remained in my blood without being shed

8. Until my veins heard its crying -- a pure pulse, the melody not stopping

9. When I heard you reciting, it showed me -- above the planets of the majestic position

10. And I saw Makkah a painting drawn -- making the hearts of the referring listener flow (with tears)

11. Its valleys and its mountains and its deserts -- a yearning feeling and an honoured sight

12. O recitor of the Quraan in the month of guidance -- and goodness, recite what you can and delight(your ears)

13. Recite, because there isn't a pulsating vein in the body -- except that it listens with sensitive listening

14. How beautiful is the Quraan recited clearly -- sweet, pure letters, without unnaturalness

15. When I heard you reciting it made me feel -- in the garden, picking from it what is not picked

16. I hear in the abode of my eagerness -- a whisper removing my fears

17. A whisper saying to every pulsating heart -- eager for the revelation, fair words

18. Delight your heart with the Book and Verse -- because the greatest delight is the recitation of the mushaf
