I remember hearing Sheikh Sudais lead Isha that night (when the King passed away) and he cried at qaloo inna lillahi wa inna illayhi rajioun..

Ohhh, I was watching an eid salah video and at the end the voiceover says Umar Subbayl and I thought it was Muhammed Subbayl. I thought to myslelf how did muhammad subbayl's voice change soo much within a couple of years, turns out it is his son who led in Haram too :coolious: but died :'(

It, for me, is the best i've ever heared somone recite surah al a'la and al ghashiyah.

i know for sheikh bin uthaimeen rahimullah it was sheikh sudais. wow the crowds for his burial was just wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww :loving:
Edit- the khutbah done for sheikh bin baz rahimullah on his passing away was done by sheikh muhammed subayyil. and in madinah sheikh abdul muhsin al qasim. i assume sheikh subayil led the janazah as he was also buried on friday

SAS must have prayed the Salatul Ghaib Janaza for Fahd in Makkah and I persume also in Madinah.

Yeah I was, subhanAllah it was kinda of a wierd feeling.

Yeah I remember when sudais lead i was like, yesssss hell read somewhere really random and looooong :brother: then he read like one or two ayahs and only after the salah i realised why he read what he read. mashAllah

AbdulHameed no i dont but i do have umm the sheikh bin uthaimeen R one- this is how it goes

a nasheed (7 seconds) with like loadsa people tryna to hold his coffin
sheikh sudais then speaking in the background (he did a jumah khutbah with reflection to sheikh bin uthaimins Rs passing away)
and they carry the coffin like thousand of people.
then a car pulls into grave yard with a couple of sheikhs and a loadsa men running behind it-20 men get in, the gates are closed then they carry the coffin, again loadsa people. sheikh sudaiss dua finishes and a pic of sheikh bin Baz R comes on speaking
then shows people in desparation climbing over graveyard gates to be there

ooooooh i so remember that. and when he was really ill which turned out to be just hours before he passed away sheikh sudais was praying 3:185

Yes the mu'adin made the announcment mentioning it was Salatul Ghaib.

King Fahd passed away on the 1st of August.
Former King AbdAllah was appointed king (at the time he was Crown Prince) on the 3rd of August. His crownn prince position is now taken by Crown Prince Sultaan.
