Can someone please explain the format followed in Tahajud in the Haram? like how many rakats, etc. Becasue it looks like Shuraim is praying Witr

Tahajjud is 8 rakahs I think. Actually, I lost count after 4, but usually its 8, so I think its 8.

I was referring to Sheikh Shuraim being on his own for Tahajjud. I wasn't talking about Taraweeh..

I haven't a clue who would lead Taraweeh tomorrow. Possibly Sheikhs Shuraim and Sudais, but possibly Sheikhs Budayr and Juhany. :zip:

i soooooo was expecting sst to lead

actually sheikh shuraim made some major slip ups ap about 1:45 their time and no one corrected him <_< he was like praying one ayah 5 times tryna get it right :'(

Yesterday, Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Defence Minister General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended the closing ceremony for this year's Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA) at the Heritage Village.

Sheikh Mohammed presented DIHQA’s Islamic Personality of the Year award to Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Sudais, Imam of the Holy Kaaba, who also received Dh1 million.

And about the award alhamdulilah i got to see it, it was veryy nice, although they were praising sudais abit too much, and you could clearly see his head shaking right to left every time they praised him, they even showed highlights from his career at the haram lol, one clip they showed him leading shaykh Ahmed Deedat (RahimahuAllah) in the haram, and they presented a short bioghraphy about his life, but nothing new too what us imam *fans* know....(born in riyad memorised the quran at 12 started the haram at 1404 etc) Also they said he got his award because of the outstanding sacrifices he has made in order to bring back generations to the Quran, his voice has sparkled the love for the Quran amongst so many youth and elders alike, and they got many qoutes from other scholars commenting about sudais, and one of them stood out very nicely. The shaykh said "Abdi Rahman Sudais reads the Quran from the Heart first, before he reads it from the tounge"

Then it was time for Sudais speech :shade: mashAllah he started off by thanking Allah subhanu wa ta'ala before thanking any human beings and thanked Him for preserving the Quran in his heart, then after thanking Allah he went on to thank his dear parents who had put the effort in him while he was young to learn the Quran, very emotional :'( and then hes teacher that tought him the Quran and other 'ilm. Then he thanked the rest of the officials present. All in all it was very emotional and touching. Although if you ask me I think it should have been a joined award along with Shuraim!
