I have a cassette tape, from 1412 taraweeh, Sh.Thubayti led that year in Makkah,also Sh.Shuraim,Sh.Sudais,and Sh.Humaid led too. Sura Fatiha was recited by Sh.Thubayti in the tape,and he cried during reciting it. Sh.thubayti is the only other imam than shuraim i heard to cry in sura fatiha, as far as i know. i wish i could put the recitation on here.i'll try to convert it into a cd. inshallah.

i dont get it, why the imams dont accept gifts? in Islam we suppose to give gifts to each other

Brother Hafiz idrees its very hard for the sheikh to remember because he meets alot of people in the morning day and night .

no the thing is I am asking in context to shiekh Shuraims memory !! I heard he has amazing memory of identifying ppl....otherwise its impossible that he remembers me...there is another thing that I met him in his office so there might be something unique about me for him to remember me but I wish he does so...

shaykh Shuraim has a really good memory masha'allah. Although i know him personally, i've noticed that he recognises a lot of people who he saw 2-3 years back.

yes but that gift can be used as a bribe too. (sheikh saleh aal talibs case) they do accept gifts very rarely but dont like to accept because if they werent imams of masjid ul Haram would people be giving them?

i dont know if sst took his place but i dont think hes a judge no more. unless you can be lecturer and judge at the same time lol

Oh yeah...wasn't it bro Abdullah Saood or maybe somebody else who posted on IA's Imaams thread, saying that Sheikh Shuraim rejected a bottle of perfume because it could be bribery since he was a judge. I bet the students would still bribe him. lol
