bro abdullah can you give us more description and details of Shuraims house? can you tell us how he was with you? was he friendly?
also on the 2003 taraweeh on the first day you can see Shuraim and Salih chatting and maybe laughing. when he reads the last 10 reakats he sounds nervous and his voice shakes, has anyone noticed this?

Re: Imams of the Haramains

i know that was a dumb question but am just curious how Shuraim was around other people becasue some people say he is very defensive of himself.

Look at the size of him MashaAllah, he does not need to be defensive, lol.

Re: Imams of the Haramains

lol bro farhan mashallah he is soo massive. its just that someone told me that he is so defensive of himself and that he doesn't talk to many people. he is massive, about 6ft maybe?

Mashallah Shaykh Shuraim was very friendly - mind you he only spoke when you asked him a question but yeah he was fine - mashallah he has that aura around him that can be intimidating but he is mashallah really nice. He is also very serious and you wouldnt joke around with him - just serious conversation.

I visited Shaykh Sudais place in UQ and again it was pretty big and again very simple and well decorated. They had Oud burning in the Oud Lamp so it smelt beautiful and this went round with the lamp and we put our hands over it and pushed the smoke towards us! The arabs are really into burning Oud in the house.
There were no extravagant colours mainly light colours (white). Shaykh Sudais was a bit more relaxed and was joking around more - (you can appreciate different people have different personalities - just like the Sahaba did).

Shaykh Saleh Talib was very chilled out - it was like he had known me for ages - I got on really well with him - he gave me his mobile number last time. Inshallah I am planning on visiting him at his home soon.

wow bro abdullah you mashallah had the chance to meet such pious peope in their own houses, i have never see Shuraim wear just a thobe he is always wearing a bisht. i have seen sudais without a bisht. do they take their bisht off in their home? what else did you do in Shuraim's house?

Re: Imams of the Haramains

bro abdullah what did you and Shuraim talk about? did you ask him how his recitation is so wicked mashallah? i know Allah has blessed him with the recitation but did he tell you if he hd any inspiration or someone he based his recitation on?

Mashallah in ramadhan 2003 Shaykh Shuraim took off his bisht and prayed the whole 10 rakaats without the bisht - he prayed Surah Yusuf you can watch it on www.saudiembassy.net - archived prayers.

When I met Shaykh Shuraim he just had his head cap and bisht on - it was all very informal. We just chatted about lots of general things (my friend was with me who lives near and knows Shaykh Shuraim so it was pretty chilled) about life in the UK, about Islam, some islamic advice, about the haram, abaout the Prophet (Sallaallah-ho-alahi-wassalam) just Islamic stuff.

We were given some drinks and Qawa and arabic food - lots of chicken and falafall and lots of fruit. We all ate together on the floor - mashallah arabs are very hospitable!

We were there for about an hour or so? Amazing experience! Shaykh Shuraim looks soooooooooo different in real life compared to on TV - his beard is very striking and it really looks good on him, mashallah its immacculate very neat and straight.

Re: Imams of the Haramains

i think he felt too hot thats why he had water and he still did prayer with the bisht only on his shoulders, you could see his arms. it might hae been very hot that day
