Important Reminder!

:sl: dearest sis,

It was indeed very upsetting to see Muslim "brothers and sisters" talking to each other like that, and I use the speech marks deliberately, because if we saw each other as that, we would all try to be patient with each other.

In recent weeks, some Muslim members seem to be rude with each other, taking offence easily, and losing their tempers with each other at the slightest thing, and it is not only unpleasant for those involved, but also for all others reading, and it doesn't make for a very pleasant forum environment.

Regardless of who (if anyone) was initially in the wrong, I hope all else involved have/will also apologise as necessary, and I truly hope the sister will come back soon.

May Allah ease all Muslim's affairs, ameen.

I think the following thread is also a useful reminder for all of us:

May Allah forgive me if I said anything wrong.

:sl:

I don't post much any more because I'm tired of people nit picking on every word and sentence.

I just used the last thread you started to reply to someone.. so you know your effort is appreciated and can be just what someone is looking for... I know I was looking for something to console myself with today and Allah swt sent that thread you started my way and I sent it someone else's way..

:salamext:

...to all who view this thread..

I am bumping this thread up because I believe a LOT of us need a reminder on board right now, and not missing myself out, including myself as well.

Inshaa'Allaah we benefit from this thread..

And forgive me if i've said anything wrong to anyone on board.

:salam:

The purpose of bumping this thread is not more different thanthe previous poster. The lesson here for us all(and my advice is not for anyone but first for Myself) is that we must be extremely careful in how we speak. So many times, people mean no harm whatsoever. There is no ill will intended. But they wind up saying things in such a way that is painful to others. It is just a matter of carelessness or, at worst, ignorance.Sometimes, merely the way the words are said makes all the difference in the world. The whole message got spoiled because of the way we utter words. We need to mind our manners when speaking to others.Disagreement doesn't justifies your attitude or lack of adaab when speaking to them. It doesn't matter if the discussion causes outrage in you. Keep quiet if you are angry, since you don't know how sometimes people are so terribly hurt as a result of careless in the expression of certain ideas, as a result of someone not thinking something through.

We need to sensitize ourselves to all that is going on in the world and/of respective individuals and the minds of our listeners. If a person asks a question don't jump on them because you think it's silly or inappropriate etc. Don't make fun when giving an answer. That's not the way of bringing someone closer to the truth. It only cause them to be repelled. State the facts and the scholars opinion and leave any of your personal comments aside. We must think before we talk and think while we talk. We must know what to say, who to say it to, how to say it, and in what situations it should not be said.

I don't know whether it would be appropriate to say or not but Yes,I've seen a member here who came as non Muslim, accept Islam while he was on IB forums and then left(after a few discussions) because of the attitude of few members.Don't forget we are not only believer/follower of Islam but also its Ambassador.Representative with both of our actions and words. The following thread will help to a certain extent:

The Prophet’s Methods of Dealing with People’s Mistakes

May Allah forgive me for my shortcoming and flaws and I apologize to everyone for anything wrongly said hurting you in some or other way.

Regards

Reminder - most of us have extremely little knowledge - withhold your fingers my internet scholar friends !

"They ask you [O Muhammad (saws] concerning the Ruh (Soul). Say: 'It is one of the things, the knowledge of which is only with my Lord. And of knowledge, you (mankind) have been given very little."

[Qur'an Al-Israa 17:85]

lets remember we refer to classical scholars for fatwa in accordance with the relevant madhaahibs.

jazakAllah for your time wa barakAllaahu feek
