your duty is to learn about Islam, but also to be educated in the context of worldly knowledge. I can't understand how any Muslim can consider the two types of knowledge to be opposed one to another. Today is a time when, if you lack knowledge in one of the two fields, you will be lagging behind.

An educated mind is better than an uneducated mind. The more you study the more your mind develops. You don't have to quit school to study Islam. You can study college as well as read Islamic books, watch Islamic videos, listen to lectures and attend conferences.

The first ever verse of Quran was ch 96 v 1-5-recite in the name of Allah who created you from clot, recite in the name of Allah who taught you the thing you didn't know, recite in the name of Allah and Allah is the doer of big things.prophet Muhammad S.A.W ( pbuh ) said its the duty of both man and woman to gain knowledge.so study and follow islam.

One very important part of your deen is to learn to become patient. So don´t call your school boring place but make your works there well, learn to love getting knowledge. One day you'll realize that it's worth. And you find out it wasn´t boring place at all.

bilalkid

there is no point in mixing EDUCATION and DEEN

that is like saying should i not eat anything but CAMEL MEAT as it was common in the prophet's time.

YOU SHOULD STUDY, however poorly.
i was like you and have grown up to know how better off I am .
You dont HAVE TO BE an A grade student. Just keep studying, find your passion and that is it.

Thats true but I wanna be educated in Islam not maths or science they wont help me in akhira
They can. They broaden your view. They are not necessarily good for you hereafter but surely good to understand the word better. That can also be good for you hereafter

algebra and the sciences etc help the brain to grapple with fiqhi problems.

awesome cool! an example? ^o)

algebra excercises the deeper problem solving networks in your brain, physics, chemistry biology help you understand and accept physical realities and help you to expand and develop upon those realities.
all done within the guidance of Islam and seeking to please Allah are steps towards perfection unlike kufr science and evil plotting.

fiqh scholars and mufti's have to understand and expand within the limits of Islam in order to keep up with new problems and provide solutions.

you'll find that many of the scholars in Islam were all rounders.

Algebra*(from*Arabic*"al-jabr"*meaning "reunion of broken parts"[1]) is one of the broad parts of*mathematics, together with*number theory,*geometryand*analysis.
In its most general form, algebra is the study of mathematical symbols and the rules for manipulating these symbols;[2]*it is a unifying thread of almost all of mathematics.[3]
*As such, it includes everything from elementary equation solving to the study of abstractions such as*groups,*rings, and*fields.

a couple of very easy to understand examples:
equation presented is: 2x=8
intelligence and power of deduction (in this case division in direct book formula or multiplication in trial and error l) must be excercised to understand x since it is not spelled out in the book,

problem presented is: does gravity exist?
try dropping an object continuously until you find that it's constant.

was 9/11 an inside job carried out by elements within the u.s government?
how could wtc7 have fallen at gravitational acceleration without the lower support columns having been blown out in order to eliminate any resistance before upper floors reached the lower positions? 9.81 m/s/s requires zero resistance during freefall.

does God exist and is His prescribed way of life supreme?
consider that the way of life prescribed stands out as the nearest to perfection, and how else could the miracles of the prophets make any sense?

God demands an inquisitive mind and demands obedience once the soul has been convinced.

Uh, no. Your going too be questioned by Allah(SWT) on what you have learned (Knowledge). And this go's for each and everyone of us.

Learning biology, chemistry etc. is mubah in islam. You cam learn deen besides it parallelly. So don't quit one for the other. Do them both. Allah does not gave his ibaad orders they could not reach.

Obey parents.
The last statement of Khalid ibn Walid, "I had no much time to learn Quran, but I am so grateful Allah has chosen me to serve Islam in battle field."

I could be wrong, but I don't believe the OP has dedicated his life on the battle field.

This thread was started in 2014. If the OP is still asking the same question 7 years on then I'd be really worried for him.
