Interfaith meeting at mosque

Peace be with you all,

I have been invited to an interfaith meeting at our local mosque this week. What are your thoughts?

My hope is, that people of different faiths can work together for the good of our community. I would like to see interfaith initiatives like food banks, helping the homeless, good neighbour schemes etc. We are free to worship and volunteer within our own faith communities, but I believe we can do more together.

Learning to respect each other is the first thing in interfaith relations which I can say from my side

I'd love to see more of this as well. With Islam being the fastest-growing religion, there are many interfaith families today, and it would be wonderful to bring them together for meaningful causes. I have Christian family members who are active in their church and have invited me to learn about various Christian organizations that support victims of homelessness, food insecurity, and those recently released from incarceration. Please do share your work with the muslim community and be open to learning from them as well.

We often have initiatives that send resources to underserved community members as well. There are many muslim owned food pantries, fundraisers, and weekend festivals that help muslim owned businesses share their resources. Ask about this and maybe there can be a great collaboration!

May the blessings of Ramadan fill your life with love, generosity, and kindness. Wishing you all a peaceful and blessed Ramadan. May your prayers be answered and your fasts accepted.

We were all made to feel very welcome at the mosque, and of course there was food too. We gathered together in a side room and various people spoke. I felt uncomfortable that people continued to talk when we heard prayers through the speakers. I could see the imam trying to listen to the prayers as people talked. I said, should we all be silent.

The gathering seemed more like an opportunity to network, relationships have to start somewhere. Sadly, there seemed a reluctance to talk about God, I guess people did not want to offend. I did say, unless we talk about God, then all we have is a business meeting. My neighbours are from many faiths and none, but we are all neighbours, we need a greater cohesion.

My belief is that all truth must lead to kindness, compassion, mercy, forgiveness and love of our neighbours, despite our differences. I passionately believe that the more charitable work we can do together, that we will bring glory to God, our creator.

There are more monthly meetings planned, and I hope to attend.

Always be kind with the disbelievers, but within your mind you utterly dislike their kuffr. Utter dislike of disbelief.

Show kindness etc.

Within your own mind...

You will never ever disbelieve and you will be a believer until death, and disbelief is non-existent in you and it does not belong to you in any way shape form.

The infidels are surely sick inside (by their unfortunate kuffr).

Never agree to them in matters of God etc.

God is with me, and He strengthens me (there is no power except in God), and I am totally God-Realized.
