:sl: , Yeah, no problem sis I can teach you the basics. It's not that hard, I learned how to write in written Somali within a year. Don't worry, sometimes I have problems speaking to relatives as well. :p

Sadly there are very few people of Arabic Ancestry here. Off hand I can only think of 4 members that are so.

It is interesting to see that Dearborn has the largest Arabic Population in the USA. When I was living in Shreveport Louisiana, Shreveport had a large Arabic population. But, none were Muslim the majority if not all were Roman Catholic.
The Arab population built the first Catholic Church in Shreveport. The original is long gone, but it was rebuilt in the late 1800s, again by the Arab Population. An artifact is that the original stained glass windows have Arabic inscriptions.

Here in Austin we do have a number of people at one of the Masjids that are from Saudi, Syria, Algeria and Jordan.

Looking back through the old posts it does seem that the early membership of this forum was a majority Somali. I think the acceptance of all of us demonstrates the love and tolerance the original membership expressed as Muslims. Today it has grown to be an appropriate mixture of many people. reflecting the fact we are Muslim not a nationality.

And isn't it funny how must non-Muslims think all Muslims are Arabs!
