I have mailed sheikh Imran Hosein about it. I'll keep you posted as soon as I receive an answer InshAllah.
Wow, omg, seems like he would arrive very soon. would we get to see him in our lifetime?
Exactly, I was gonna say just that! No hadeeth provides timeframes between the arrivals.
But, if you study hadeeth with tafsir and recognize what is going in the world today - you can draw some real parallels.
I am in no position to actually promote my opinion on the matter as it is conjectural, and maybe taken by some too literally - so to refrain from the fitna of leading others into a wrong belief - i'll refrain.
All I can really say is - the time is close. memorize al Kahf, first ten and last ten ayahs of the surah atleast...

Thanks brother. I just asked him those questions because he calculated the days of the dajjal. one day like a heavenly year, one day like a heavenly month and one day like a heavenly week and the rest of the days are like normal earthly days. So, how did he calculate that?
Subhanallah, this is frightening. As one brother here said, the time is really close. Because most of the signs during the prophets(S.A.W) time and after have already happened(if not all), there are the big ones left.
What we also forget is how near the death is, really. We dont even think about it and we can die NOW. We muslims should think about that instead of qiyamah all the time. When you die, then its over. Either a hell is waiting for you or a jannah. May Allah rescue us from his punishment.imsad

You need to read his book "Surah Kahf and the Modern Age" from his website ....it explains the time dimensions and how he came to his calculation.
Btw i personally believe that 7 years and 40 years have a symbolic meaning. I know that "Seven" or "Seventy" in Arabic means Several or Many. So 7 would probably mean several.
and 40 could be a long time period because consider this hadith...
Narrated Abu Dhar: I said, "O Allah's Apostle! Which mosque was first built on the surface of the earth?" He said, "Al-Masjid-ul-,Haram (in Mecca)." I said, "Which was built next?" He replied "The mosque of Al-aqsa ( in Jerusalem) ." I said, "What was the period of construction between the two?" He said, "Forty years." He added, "Wherever (you may be, and) the prayer time becomes due, perform the prayer there, for the best thing is to do so (i.e. to offer the prayers in time)." (Bukhari)
If we take this hadith and try understanding it literally then it would be impossible to believe that period between their construction was exact 40 years. History informs us that time period between the construction of both was huge. So it cannot be 40 years and so 40 years could have a symbolic meaning.
Salaam.
