And may He give one of us the ability to shove a spear up his ****,
ameen

:sl:

No one will be able to defeat him no matter how hard they try and many will try and fail and end up giving into him, even strong Muslims. That is why the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) advised us not to go anywhere near him lest we approach him thinking we can defeat him and end up losing our imaan . Only Isa (As) will succeed in defeating him. But the only way to win against him is to enter his hell which will in fact in reality be Heaven.

Re: Is it possible that the Mahdi(ra) is here ?

It will certainly be difficult times to live in, but the blessings in it are also very great!
It is said to be the same as if you was living in the holy presence of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saws)and his Sahaba (raa).:statisfie

i got this from here:

Assalamu alaykum

There are two signs for the Mahdi... The first one is the lunar
eclipse in the first night of Ramadan, and the second is the solar
eclipse in the middle of this month. (Ibn Hajar al-Haythami, Al-
Qawl al-Mukhtasar fi `Alamat al-Mahdi al-Muntazar, p. 47)

There will be two solar eclipses in Ramadan before the Mahdi's
advent. (Mukhtasar Tazkirah Qurtubi)

It has reached me that before the Mahdi emerges the moon will
be eclipsed twice in Ramadan. (Related by Abu Nu'aym in al-
Fitan)

The most striking point here is that it is impossible for
there to be two solar as well as two lunar eclipses within
one month. Such things
cannot occur under ordinary
conditions.
However, most signs of
the End Times are incidents
that the humanmind can grasp and realize, depending on certain reasons.

If these incidents are examined carefully, some differences
become apparent. The best thing to do in such a situation
is to locate the areas of agreement. Theses are the following:
There will be solar and lunar eclipses during
Ramadan, these will be spaced about 14-15 days apart, and
the eclipses will be repeated twice.

In line with these calculations, there was a lunar eclipse
in 1981 (Hijri 1401) on the 15th day of Ramadan, and a solar
eclipse on the 29th day of the month. There was a "second"
lunar eclipse in 1982 (Hijri 1402) on the 14th day of
Ramadan, and a solar eclipse on the 28th day of the month.
It is also particularly significant that in that particular
instance, there was a full lunar eclipse in the middle of
Ramadan, a most striking prophecy.
The occurrence of these incidents during the same period
coinciding with the signs of the Mahdi's emergence,
and their miraculous recurrence at the onset of the fourteenth
Islamic century for two consecutive years (1401-02)
makes it possible for these events to be the
signs foretold by the hadiths.

Notes for Table 2
Central lunar eclipses are always total.
*The central solar eclipses listed above are total unless asterisked - in which case they are annular.
Dates apply to the instant of maximum eclipse.
Extrapolated Gregorian dates are given even on occasions when the old Julian calendar was in operation;
the corresponding Julian date is then shown below in brackets.

i found this interesting too,
notice that the stock markets go into turmoil and the price of gold begins to shoot up at both these recent events,
possibly a coincidence,
but quite intriguing :)

As a student of history, I have studied the Bible and its fulfillment of prophecy through various historical events. Revelations is a particular favorite book of mine.

I am not as familiar with the Islamic end-times prophecy.

I'm still not sure about the literal interpretation of "the sun rising in the West", but that seems to be the general consensus around here, so I will let that lie.

I read somewhere that the Mahdi was supposedly born during Islam's last war with Israel. Unless my historical knowledge fails me, the last war of Israel was the 1973 war with Egypt. That would make the Mahdi 39 this year, if he is alive, and if he was born the year of Islam's last war with Israel.

With all of this talk about the world ending on 12/21/2012, this seems possible, but probably not very likely. I don't remember where I read this, but I don't think it was an authentic Islamic source.

'Verily, for our Mahdi there are two signs which have never as yet concurred since the creation of the heavens and earth; first is the eclipse of the
moon on the first night of Ramadan, and second is the eclipse of the sun during the middle of that same Ramadan. This (concurrence of a solar and

Can you please tell us who narrated the hadith, and who collected it, and if it's been classified by any scholars?

Re: Is it possible that Imam Mahdi [ra] is here ?

I would love to fight allongside the Mahdi [ra] against the kuffaar and munafiqeen.

I'm not a warrior. When I was younger, I fancied myself as a valiant knight of old, seeking to right the wrongs and the injustices of the world. Now I am older and (hopefully) wiser, and realize that battle is not my fate. I'm a thinker, not a doer.

there comes a time though,
9. It is He Who has sent His Messenger with Guidance and the Religion of Truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all ways of life, even though the Pagans may detest (it).
10. O you who believe! Shall I lead you to a bargain that will save you from a grievous Penalty?-
11. That you believe in Allah and His Messenger, and that you strive (your utmost) in the way of Allah, with your property and your persons: That will be best for you, if you but knew!
12. He will forgive you your sins, and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, and to beautiful mansions in Gardens of Eternity: that is indeed the Supreme Achievement.
13. And another (favour will He bestow,) which you do love,- help from Allah and a speedy victory. So give the Glad Tidings to the Believers.
14. O you who believe! Be you helpers of Allah. As said Jesus the son of Mary to the Disciples, "Who will be my helpers to (the work of) Allah." Said the disciples, "We are Allah.s helpers!" then a portion of the Children of Israel believed, and a portion disbelieved: But We assisted and gave power to those who believed, against their enemies, and they became the ones that prevailed.

let us be mentally prepared, the time is at hand

They were poorly equipped, and had only two horses and 70 camels with them.
Some of them had swords but no shields and others had shields but no swords.
The Prophet who was aware of these apparent handicaps, called a council of war, and put the matter before his companions for consideration and decision.
The first man who rose to speak on this critical occasion, was Miqdad. He voiced the feelings and thoughts of the Muhajireen when he said:
"O Messenger of God, do what God has commanded you to do. We are with you, now and at all times;
and we shall not tell you what the Israelites told Moses: ‘You and your Lord should go and fight against the enemy; as for us, we shall stay here, and sit here.'
No, we shall not imitate the Israelites. We shall follow you and obey your orders."

Well until that time comes, my battle is to improve myself. My battle is to become the person I am supposed to be.

Incha'Allah he will come very soon to unite us!
Ameen!!

We should try and unite ourselves now not just sit here waiting for Mahdis arrival. That is not the mentality of a Muslim. A Muslim strives to do the best he can and to unite the ummah. Mahdi may or may not come in our lifetime so will we sit here waiting for him?

So let us strive to unite ourselves now and whenever Mahdi is destined to come then he will.

It is the holy destiny of our Imam Mahdi (ra) to unite our fragmented ummah and spread Islaam over all the world (jinn+mankind).

Yes and it should be our aim to also fulfill this work of uniting our Ummah not just sit there waiting for Mahdi. We are not created to wait for Mahdi. That is not our purpose. So some of us need to let go of this obsession we have with Mahdi where we give in to the fact that we cannot make any positive changes without his arrival. That is not the kind of mentality a Muslim should have.

We certainly can do our utmost best to unite, but you know that the only one who will be our unifier is our rightly guided caliph.

It is not our purpose in life to sit there and wait until the Mahdi arrives "to unite us", but our purpose in life is to worship Allah, obey him and refrain from anything which angers or displeases. It is not to sit here waiting for the Mahdi who may or may not come in our lifetime.

So do that which will benefit your akhira and being obsessed about the coming of the Mahdi will certainly not benefit your akhirah.

Read the authentic (Sunni) hadiths and you will come to the conclusion that no one but Imam Mahdi (ra) will bring us all Muslims together on the path of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saws) just like the Rightly Guided Caliphs (raa) did.:coolious:

Brother almost all your posts have been about awaiting Mahdis arrival so he can unite us. We as Muslims must do our best to unite as an Ummah NOW not just be reliant upon Mahdi to unite us. The mentality of a Muslim should be to leave a legacy behind that will benefit the Ummah. Not to just think we will wait until Mahdi arrives for him to unite us.

So what legacy will you as a Muslim leave behind for the benefit of the Ummah? That is what you should be concentrating on and putting your efforts into. Mahdi will arrive whenever Allah wills.

So in the meantime concentrate your efforts on making the best of your own short time here and in leaving your legacy behind for tge ummah!

Re: Is it possible that the Mahdi (ra) is here ?

Brother, I really think that you totally misunderstand me. I am just like you of the opinion that we Muslims must not just lay back and wait for the Mahdi (ra) to lead us, we must ourselves try to make a difference for the good of our Ummah.
But what I'm getting to is just that i'm so exited at the high probability that Imam Mahdi (ra), and Isa (as) Ibn Maryam (ra), might not be so far away for us living in these extremely interesting times.
That's all bro.:thumbs_up
