is praying only fard salah permissible?

salaam to everyone,
I am slowly beginning to inshallah turn towards islam & on that note beginning to pray salaah, its difficult at the moment as its a new part of my daily routine & i have only been praying the fard rakahs usually when i come back home after work about 6-7pm (so i end up reading the missed prayers together except Eshaa)
is it permissible to pray only the fard rakats although inshallah i plan on praying the full rakahs soon?

It is permissible to only pray Fard prayers, but remember that Friday prayer in congregation is also Fard. Prayers should be prayed at their correct times if possible. Intentionally missing prayer is a large sin. If there is no way for you to complete the prayers during their correct time or attend Friday prayer due to an unavoidable work schedule, you should talk to your local Imam to see if it is permissible to pray certain prayers together.

Islam is a beautiful and perfect religion that does not ask from anyone more than they can handle. I hope you continue towards Islam!

that is real good to hear saalah is very important and there are many fruits and virtues in salah some of them are
1. it was perscribed in the Heavens the Night the prophet peace be upon him ascended to the heavens were all other acts of worship werent this shows its greatness
2 it is the only pillar we do 5 times a day everyday no matter what except a women on her menstrual period or post partum bleeding
3 it is the one most virtuous and most beloved deeds to Allah the prophet peace be upoh him said Know that the best of you deeds is Prayer this is in ahmad
4. it is the backbone of islam The prophet peace be upon him said the most important of all matters is islam and its backbone is the salah this is also in ahmad
5. it is a sign of honesty and frees a person from Hypocrisy the prophet peace be upon him said whosoever prays 40 days with the congregation attending the initial of the prayer will be free of 2 things hellfire and hypocrisy
6 it elevates the ranks and expiates sins as the prophet peace be upon him said Tell me if there were a river in front of ones house in which he would bath five times a day would any dirt remain on him they said no dirt will remain on him he then said that is the example of the five daily obligatory prayers for through them Allah erases sins -- you can find this in bukharii and muslim

anyhow there are many more that we can name so Alhumdulillah for this beautiful nima as for putting the salahs together then this is for a person who is traveling as far as i know and combine then is not permissable unless you are traveling and Allah knows best.. as for making up missed prayers akhi well then Alhumdulillah you should and we should keep in mind that there is no sin on he who doesnt do an act out of Jahl (ignorance) unwilling or out of forgetfulness so for an act to be a sin you must know and do t willingly and remebering hence the person who didnt know once he finds out then there is no excuse and the one who forgot once he remebers he should take care of it and the one who is doing it unwillingly whats he is able to do it then he should so akhi Barak Allah feek you should try to find a way to perform you salah only you know if you fall into one of this 3 things May Allah make it easy for you Ameen

Assalaam Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
It's permissible.But it's better to perform the sunnah prayers as well.Actually following to the letter every aspect of the Practices of the Prophet (PBUH) is only bestowed on the highest of the elite. If it is not possible to follow them in practice, everyone can seek to do so by intention, purpose, and by supporting them and being biased towards them. In any event one is compelled to follow the obligatory and compulsory sorts. And even if there is no sin involved in giving up the Practices which are ‘recommended’, it results in considerable loss of merit. And if they are changed, it is a great error. When the Practices are followed in habitual actions and dealings, such acts become worship. While if they are not followed, it is not to be reproved, but the benefit from the light of the daily conduct of Allah’s Beloved is less.
