Is watching sci-fi movies haram?

I've seen the anime movies, but not that big of a fan. I am more fantasy anime kind of fan. Howl's moving castle, Childern who chase lost voices, spirited away..the boy and the beast..kind of anime..Studio Ghibli definitly.[h=3][/h]
 
I think it's a good idea for anyone to prepare a book of comedy, called "The News of the Stupid and the Idiot" which will surely get Awards and oscars world wide, just by visiting this forum and by reading silly threads like this while taking notes!

And then the comedy book will get adopted by Hollywood scenarists just to make a Sci-fi movie about it.

And then you will Watch yourselves and just laugh and maybe then you will discover if it's Halal or Haram!

Wallahi, it's unbelievable, leaving what is really important to discuss insignificant subjects!

Sometimes having a CASUAL conversation isn't so bad and makes us human. It is if you spend all your time on such conversations is making things not beneficial. That is why i left facebook, whatsapp and all that kind of nonsense. The rubbish was more than the beneficial stuff for me anyways.

EDIT: Btw, i have gained seriously a lot of wisdom and knowledge looking Japanese anime movies and series. I have restricted it in the last 1-2 years and i am restricting it more. I watch series that i already was following and only watch new anime movies as they are not more then 1-2 hours. While new series ask a lot more time to follow and that's why i don't watch new series anymore.

About Hollywood movies and movies in general. I have also stopped watching new movies unknown to me, but only still watch movies that are sequels of movies that i already have seen. In the end being not watching any movies anymore. Because indeed is a lot of time wasted, however i will not tell others to do as i do. Everybody is free to do with their time.

Sci-Fi is based on Scientific theory,

for example - in the 60's a small tv show called star trek, developed theories into Tractor Beams and stuff like this - which are now a reality.

It's not a waste of time for those of us who are tech minded and pursue the science - for us, it's an entertaining way of learning something, call it "edutainment".

The starter of this thread asked a question and received answers. Nobody is saying to leave more important matters in service of less important matters as your original post suggested. Please do not make assumptions about others' intentions, as it is very easy to make a mistake which can, and will, turn them against you to the detriment of all.

My latest Disney movie was Moana and now I am also definitely out. Propaganda upon propaganda...whole rubbish feminist hidden propaganda destroys the quality of the story. If Hollywood wasn't bad enough for their LGBT-agenda now Disney is poisoning the minds of children.

Manny people haven't been properly introduced with Asian and other foreign cinema, where movies of some sort of good plot still exist. Hollywood and Disney are joke for simple minded people to get more brainwashed. Hollywood is badass in screwing over movies with good plots. I am amazed how they can turn them in to shallow shells. They really have good talent for it.
