Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

Alhamdulillah, this is excellent advice and instruction brought up by our dear friend, brother Tilmeez. I would like to humbly submit a few additional points regarding the house:

First and foremost, it should be clean and tidy. Wife and female children should vacuum, broom, mop, dust, etc., on a weekly basis. Kitchen should be cleaned daily, and washrooms should also have utmost maintainance. The house of a Mumin should stand out as an examplary model. Allah Tala has taught us the excellent prayer in the Holy Quran regarding the household and family:

وَالَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا

And those who pray, "Our Lord! Grant us of our wives and children the delight of our eyes, and make us a model for the righteous."
[Al-Furqan 25:74]

This is an excellent prayer with regard to the family which everyone should memorize: Wa allathina yaquluna rabana hab lana min azwajina wathuriyatina qurata ayunin waijalna lilmutaqina imama

Cleanliness is very important in Islam. Our Holy Prophet, Hadhrat Nabi [salallahu alaihi wa salam] has mentioned that cleanliness is half of our faith. Therefore, all Muslims should strive to be Mutatahirin (clean people), and fulfil the injunction of the Holy Quran:

إِنَّ اللّهَ يُحِبُّ التَّوَّابِينَ وَيُحِبُّ الْمُتَطَهِّرِينَ

For Allah loves those who turn to Him constantly and He loves those who keep themselves pure and clean [Al-Baqarah 2:222]

Jazak Allah khair

Excellent. A neat and clean home is the best home. Also there's no harm if male members also clean their home sometimes. It's not kuffer if they do it.
