Salaam Alaikum. I am a muslim women with three kids and I have been seperated from my husband for two years. I am a little confused as to what constitutes an Islamic divorce. Exactly how is it performed and does the man have to be the one to give it? My husband told me over the phone that he wants a divorce, would this be considered an Islamic divorce?
