ISNA/fitnah same thing haan?

lol...umm yeah but few people really go there to gain knowledge.

Forgive me, but I believe we should let Allah judge one's intention.

There's a famous story about one sahabi who killed one disbeliever in a war. The disbeliever said the shahadah while he was about to get killed and the sahabi killed him anyway as he assumed that the guy said the shahadah just to get away from being killed. He then reported this to the prophet and the prophet asked him, "do you know his heart?", 3 times, and the sahabi commented, "I felt that I wasn't a believer".

We should not like trangression of Allah's boundaries but at the same time, we should try to improve ourselves and gradually influence others who are close to us. This is the sunnah of the prophet. You will find in his seerah that his wife was the first one who believed in him then his adopted son and then his cousin. All close to him.

I would prefer that we come up with solutions than criticism. Criticism is good, to provide check and balances.

For example, rather than saying, "there are mixing of men and women at ISNA convention" say, "I suggest that we divide the time of bazaar into brothers and sister's time". Of course, it's not easy to control 30,000 people. But, generally, muslim ummah needs solutions.

In fact, that's how Allah works through Al Quran. An inhibition always comes with an alternative to that prohibited action. There's not one prohibition from Allah that does not come with an alternative action. Don't drink alcohol, but you may drink milk, water etc. Don't eat pork, but you may eat other meat. Don't do zina, but you may get married. Don't back bite, you may make shoora. Don't do riba, you may do sell and gain profit. See what I mean.

I've organized small events before, for about 200-300 people and believe me, it's not as easy as we want it to be. Let alone controlling 20-30,000 people.

:D

Asalamu Alaikum

Very few huh, interesting.

Look at it, there's hiphop in the name of Islam, TV programs and channels in the name of Islam, bombs and murder of innocents in the name of Islam, free mixing events also. What next...

How much more of the deen is going to be mocked!

I'm going to ISNA this year insha Allah. I'd like to chit chat with Dr Jamal Badawi. I met him personally in Halifax, Nova Scotia in the Spring of 2003. It was really a pleasure.

He's really a down to earth guy and I love him for the sake of Allah. May Allah accept his deed and grant him jannah.

Is any brother from this forum going? I'll be wearing my name tag written as Takumi Nakashima, :D so that you can recognize me and say salam! ;)

I hope my friend will bring his laptop, even though I'd think twice, thrice or whatever before I even use a non-mac machine :p , but I like this forum and I want to blog my experience while it happens.

Looking forward to seeing any of you! Insha Allah.

:sl: :)

I was at ISNA. It was great, alhamdullillah. Got to see my friends whom I made at ISNA last year. I didn't attend the lectures though, I had a booth at the bazaar.

The bazaar can be very stressful. But, in short, I had a great time. The entertainment session was pretty tight, masha Allah. 786, Ashiqur Rasul, ahmad abd raffur and shaam were some of the performers.

:thumbs_up

Where was this convention held at???????????????????????

Teenagers are biologically programmed to flirt, so why ----- on them?

Erm... Well, whatever. Any Islamic convention would be a thousand times more useful than an average comic book convention :p :)

yeh you'd know all about that wouldn't you "klingon"

One of the cartoons on that page was really inappropriate but I liked this:

Guy: So … did you like the session?
Girl: Yeah… heehee. It was really good.
Anti-Lobbyist: ASTAGFIRULLAH STOP TALKING ASTAGFIRULLAH
Girl: Why?
Anti-Lobbyist: ASTAGFIRULLAH DON’T YOU KNOW THE FIQH OF TALKING TO THE OPPOSITE GENDER?? ASTAGFIRULLAH
Guy: But she’s my sister.
Anti-Lobbyist: ASTAGFIR-… oh. Carry on.

Happens in school all the time....:p ;D
