Re: Turkish aid ships set sail for Gaza

:sl:

Here's a site which makes it really easy to keep oneself posted about what's going on with the flotilla. As much as I've understood the site is operated by the members of the flotilla themselves.

According to a 2-hours-old news there they're still planning to reach Gaza tomorrow morning.

May Allah take them there and allow them to help the Palestinian people.

Re: Turkish aid ships set sail for Gaza

A lot of aid ships were blocked in the past (I think all of them). Will this make it ? I also wonder if there is political support from the Turkish gov for this ship, because this will make Israel think twice before atacking it, otherwise it will have the same destiny probably I think. But I hope they succede inchallah !

Re: Turkish aid ships set sail for Gaza

What Israel is doing is wrong and supporting Israel doesn't mean supporting its every action. there is a huge humanitarian crisis in Gaza and Israel is responsible for it, rather than sending 'flotilas' the international community should be strengthen pressure on Israel to open the border to basic necessities for dignified life. There is rationale behind Israeli policy, however, protecting its own citizens from bombs should not be reason for subjugating another population to such lowly conditions.

Of course the international community should be putting more pressure to stop Israel's violation of basic human rights for Palestinian people. But as we can see the international community is being rather silent about the matter and all the UN's resolutions are quite useless as well as the U.S. can veto all of those that doesn't suit to it's pro-Israeli policies. This is the very reason why organisations and people such as these who arranged for the flotilla should be thanked for their action and courage to really do something and for turning more attention to an issue that has been making more than a million people suffer daily.

Israel has no right to 'protect' themselves from Palestinian bombs because Palestinians are living under a brutal occupation and Israel is preventing the establishment of a Palestinian state with U.S. support. Give Palestinians advanced precision-guided weapons, tanks and fighter jets, if you want them to stop killing Israeli civilians. By the way, Israel kills a hundred times more civilians.. as always the Zionist controlled western media is fooling naive westerners. I'm not surprised by your typical response.

Thing is Israel is a settler state, my mind can't wrap around settlers who have taken property by force to which they are not entitled either biblicaly, politically or under any light, feeling their urge to not just 'protect themselves' but eradicate others in the process.. I wonder where this 'sense of entitlement' comes from.. superiority complex perhaps?

Re: Turkish aid ships set sail for Gaza

They want to starve the people of Ghazza to death, they dont want them to build any buildings or their economy to grow, the jews dont want Gaza to have schools so they can be literate. Thats why they are blocking ships with construction materials and other important materials. :w:

They are entiled to the land politically. The Ottoman empire lost the war, Palestine and Jordan fell into British hands, the UK promised to split it between Jews and Arabs, the UN did so in 1947.

The UK has no sovereignty over Muslim lands.. and if we are speaking of UN (which only makes suggestions) that the U.S and Israel seem to think they are exempt from, then we should start with how many laws they have broken. They will never simply dissolve in the area no matter how many holocaust movies they push out every year and their presence their shall be their demise insha'Allah sooner or later!

all the best

Only place the European jews belong is back in Europe. If those Jew annihilators don't want them then send them to Africa or their protector, America. Palestinians are the natives of the land, and even the native Jews of Palestine didn't want these communist Europeans that the Anglo Europeans were trying to get rid off..

If no one wants them, we can just deport them Antartica and Siberia. They can live there peacefully. Hopefully.

Israel 'attacks' Gaza aid fleet

The Freedom Flotilla is aiming to provide aid to Gazans in defiance of an Israeli blockade

Israeli forces have attacked a flotilla of aid-carrying ships aiming to break the country's siege on Gaza, according to a Turkish aid agency being quoted by Turkish media.

At least two people were killed and more than 30 people injured, the report said early on Monday.

The flotilla was attacked when it was 65km off the Gaza coast.

Footage from the flotilla's lead vessel, the Mavi Marmara, appeared to show armed Israeli soldiers boarding the ship and helicopters flying overhead.

Earlier, the Israeli navy had contacted the captain of the Mavi Marmara, asking him to identify himself and say where the ship was headed.

Shortly after, two Israeli naval vessels had flanked the flotilla on either side, but at a distance.

Organisers of the attempted siege break, dubbed the Freedom Flotilla, then diverted their ships and slowed down to avoid a confrontation during the night.

They also issued all passengers life jackets and asked them to remain below deck.

Hundreds of pro-Palestinian activists, including a Nobel laureate and several European legislators, are with the flotilla, aiming to reach Gaza in defiance of an Israeli embargo.

But Israel has said it will not allow the flotilla to reach the Gaza Strip and vowed to stop the six ships from reaching the coastal Palestinian territory.

The flotilla had set sail from a port in Cyprus on Sunday and aimed to reach Gaza by Monday morning.

Israel said the boats were embarking on "an act of provocation" against the Israeli military, rather than providing aid, and that it had issued warrants to prohibit their entrance to Gaza.

It asserted that the flotilla would be breaking international law by landing in Gaza, a claim the organisers rejected

Report; “15 killed, 30 wounded, After Army Attacks Freedom Flotilla”
Monday May 31, 2010 07:46 by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC & Agencies

In what activists have termed a 'massacre on the high seas', Israeli commandos dropped from a helicopter onto humanitarian aid ships bound for Gaza and began to open fire. Israeli media have reported that 15 have been killed and at least 30 wounded in the Israeli attack.

Senior Turkish officials held an urgent meeting to decide on the country’s stance on the Israeli attack -- initial reports have indicated that most of the killed and some of the wounded are Turkish.

Sheikh Raed Salah, head of the Islamic Movement in Israel, was also among the wounded.

Al Jazeera said that Salah suffered serious injuries.

Al Jazeera has reported that Israeli paratroopers and Navy personnel attacked the ships and opened fire in different directions at the passengers.

The Qatar-based Al Jazeera network managed to broadcast live images of the wounded activists after being attacked by the Israeli soldiers.

The Free Gaza Movement said on its twitter page that "At about 4:30 am, Israeli commandos dropped from helicopter onto deck of Turkish ship, immediately opened fire on unarmed civilians."

Israel is still threatening a larger offensive against the humanitarian ships and the activists on board.

The Freedom Flotilla was supposed to reach Gaza Monday morning, with thousands of tons of much-needed humanitarian aid, including medical supplies, school supplies and building materials.

The Israeli army had said that they would take the ships to the Ashdod Port to confiscate them and arrest the activists, but activists have reported that they believe they are being hauled to Haifa port.

Israeli blamed Turkey for the attack and claimed that the Turkish humanitarian-aid foundation (IHH) is connected to “terrorist” groups.

The army dropped paratroopers onto the ships and opened live fire at the peace activists, while the humanitarian aid ships were still in international waters.

The Israeli army reported that one soldier was wounded during the attack against the ships, although it is unclear whether the soldier was wounded by 'friendly fire'.

Re: Turkish aid ships set sail for Gaza

La hawla wala quwwata illa billah...I cant believe they actually attacked that ship and killed 15 people! Ya Allah..:( may Allah send his forces against this accursed nation, may Allah destroy Israel to pieces like he destroyed nations afore. may Allah give patience and victory to Mujahideen who fight for his sake...Ameen Ya rabbal Alameen.

USA right now is a big baby with a pacifier shoved in its mouth. It looks like Israel is instigating these acts to start a War with Turkey.

may Allah have mercy on those people who have died. may Allah accept their righteous deed.
