A salaamu calikum, brothers and sisters

I am trying to learn Arabic anyone have any suggestions or advise in how to go about doing this? JazakaAllah Kharan

I learn arabic. I'm beginner but I will give you one advice. Write only in arabic. Don't try to use latin letters because it will make troubles to you and later you will find difficult to "convert" yourself into arabic alphabet. I use latin letters only in difficult words which I can't pronounce correctly. I write way of speaking then. But only if I really can't pronounce that word :)

Salam Alaykum...Thanks for the links...I really like them...anyone ever heard of an intensive english program for Americans that want to learn??

I like learning Arabic too.
and i have some books (sarf and nahv) . are they enough?
how many months do u think it will take?

the site you gave charges I can give you other sites that are free but it depends what kind of setting you learn best in

Assalmuailkum

I am learning arabic at the moment as well the only book i use is Quranic Arabic by Muhammad ibrahim H Surtywhich is really gud cos u can grasp the concepts quickly

there was a summer course in england nottingham a few years ago called 'tajdid'-anyone heard of it?
i attended it and thought it was really good-i loved the style of teaching. dr muhammad mustafa was the one who wrote and taught the course, and he is planning to publish all 6-7 levels in book form soon insha allah.
the course starts from basic beginners and takes you quite far-level 7 (last level) can be used to go into arabic journalism!
the best thing was that our teacher only spoke in arabic and would use actions to explain meanings of arabic words- that way you didn't forget.:)

:sl:
