18:91 (He left them) as they were: We completely understood what was before him.
18:92 Then followed he (another) way,
18:93 Until, when he reached (a tract) between two mountains, he found, beneath them, a people who scarcely understood a word.

18:94 They said, "O Dhul-Qarnayn, indeed Gog and Magog are [great] corrupters in the land. So may we assign for you an expenditure that you might make between us and them a barrier?"

18:95 He said, "That in which my Lord has established me is better [than what you offer], but assist me with strength; I will make between you and them a dam.

18:96 Bring me sheets of iron" - until, when he had leveled [them] between the two mountain walls, he said, "Blow [with bellows]," until when he had made it [like] fire, he said, "Bring me, that I may pour over it molten copper."

18:97 Thus were they made powerless to scale it or to dig through it.
18:98 He said: "This is a mercy from my Lord: But when the promise of my Lord comes to pass, He will make it into dust; and the promise of my Lord is true."
18:99 On that day We shall leave them to surge like waves on one another: the trumpet will be blown, and We shall collect them all together.

18:100. And on that Day We shall present Hell to the disbelievers, plain to view,—

18:101. (To) those whose eyes had been under a covering from My Reminder (this Qur'ân), and who could not bear to hear (it).

18:102. Do then those who disbelieved think that they can take My slaves [i.e., the angels, Allâh's Messengers, 'Īsā (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)] as Auliyâ' (lords, gods, protectors) besides Me? Verily, We have prepared Hell as an entertainment for the disbelievers (in the Oneness of Allâh Islâmic Monotheism).

18:103 Say, [O Muhammad], "Shall we [believers] inform you of the greatest losers as to [their] deeds?

18:104[They are] those whose effort is lost in worldly life, while they think that they are doing well in work."

18:105 Those are the ones who disbelieve in the verses of their Lord and in [their] meeting Him, so their deeds have become worthless; and We will not assign to them on the Day of Resurrection any importance.

18:106. "That shall be their recompense, Hell; because they disbelieved and took My Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and My Messengers by way of jest and mockery.

18:107. "Verily! those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous deeds, shall have the Gardens of Al-Firdaus (the Paradise) for their entertainment.

18:108. "Wherein they shall dwell (forever). No desire will they have for removal therefrom."

18:109 Say: "If the ocean were ink (wherewith to write out) the words of my Lord, sooner would the ocean be exhausted than would the words of my Lord, even if we added another ocean like it, for its aid."

18:110 Say: "I am but a man like yourselves, (but) the inspiration has come to me, that your Allah is one Allah: whoever expects to meet his Lord, let him work righteousness, and, in the worship of his Lord, admit no one as partner.

Surat Maryam

19:1 Kaf, Ha, Ya, 'Ayn, Sad.

19:2 [This is] a mention of the mercy of your Lord to His servant Zechariah

19:3 When he called to his Lord a private supplication.

19:4 Praying: "O my Lord! infirm indeed are my bones, and the hair of my head doth glisten with grey: but never am I unblest, O my Lord, in my prayer to Thee!

19:5 "Now I fear (what) my relatives (and colleagues) (will do) after me: but my wife is barren: so give me an heir as from Thyself,-

19:6 "(One that) will (truly) represent me, and represent the posterity of Jacob; and make him, O my Lord! one with whom Thou art wellpleased!"

19:7. (Allâh said) "O Zakariyya (Zachariah)! Verily, We give you the glad tidings of a son, Whose name will be Yahya (John). We have given that name to none before (him)."

19:8. He said: "My Lord! How can I have a son, when my wife is barren, and I have reached the extreme old age."

19:9. He said: "So (it will be). Your Lord says; It is easy for Me. Certainly I have created you before, when you had been nothing!"

19:10[Zechariah] said, "My Lord, make for me a sign." He said, "Your sign is that you will not speak to the people for three nights, [being] sound."

19:11 So he came out to his people from the prayer chamber and signaled to them to exalt [ Allah ] in the morning and afternoon.

19:12[ Allah ] said, "O John, take the Scripture with determination." And We gave him judgement [while yet] a boy

19:13. And (made him) sympathetic to men as a mercy (or a grant) from Us, and pure from sins [i.e. Yahya (John)] and he was righteous,

19:14. And dutiful towards his parents, and he was neither an arrogant nor disobedient (to Allah or to his parents).

19:15. And Salamun (peace) be on him the day he was born, the day he dies, and the day he will be raised up to life (again)!

19:16. And mention in the Book (the Qur'ân, O Muhammad SAW , the story of) Maryam (Mary), when she withdrew in seclusion from her family to a place facing east

19:17. She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them; then We sent to her Our Ruh [angel Jibril (Gabriel)], and he appeared before her in the form of a man in all respects.

19:18 She Said: "Verily I seek refuge with the Most Gracious (Allah) from you if you do fear Allah."

19:19. (The angel) said: "I am only a messenger from your Lord, (to announce) to you the gift of a righteous son."

19:20. She said: "How can I have a son, when no man has touched me, nor am I unchaste?"

19:21. He said: "So (it will be), your Lord said: 'That is easy for Me (Allâh): And (We wish) to appoint him as a sign to mankind and a mercy from Us (Allâh), and it is a matter (already) decreed, (by Allâh).' "

19:22 So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a remote place.

19:23 And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She said, "Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten."

19:24 But he called her from below her, "Do not grieve; your Lord has provided beneath you a stream.

19:25-26

25 And shake towards yourself the trunk of the palm tree. It will let fall fresh ripe dates upon you.

26 So eat and drink and cool your eye. And if you see any man, say, I have vowed a fast to Allah most gracious, and this day will I enter into no talk with any human being.

19:27 Then she brought him to her people, carrying him. They said, "O Mary, you have certainly done a thing unprecedented.
(Faatat bihi qawmaha tahmiluhuqaloo ya maryamu laqad ji/ti shay-an fariyya)

19:28 O sister of Aaron, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste."
(Ya okhta haroona ma kanaabooki imraa saw-in wama kanat ommuki baghiyya)

19:29 But she pointed to the babe.(2482) They said: "How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?"
19:30 He said: "I am indeed a servant of Allah. He hath given me revelation and made me a prophet;
19:31 "And He hath made me blessed wheresoever I be, and hath enjoined on me Prayer and Charity as long as I live;

19:32 (He) hath made me kind to my mother, and not overbearing or miserable
19:33 "So peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I shall be raised up to life (again)"!
19:34 Such (was) Jesus the son of Mary: (it is) a statement of truth, about which they (vainly) dispute.
