List all the ways to say....Hello or Goodbye

The question is that we have to list all ways of saying "goodbye" and "hi" in Arabic. :D

(owe tum words meaning khail ri ho!)
 
For some reason when I saw the title of this thread the first word that came into my mind was "Aloha" - which means hello and also good bye in Hawaiian
 
You'll find anyone in the arab world use one of these for hello's and bye's.(Yeh i know some have been mentioned but just wanted to list them together)

The hello's

AHlan/ AHlan wa sahlan
Ahleen
Marhba
Salaam
Hala
Hala wala
3aslaama =p

The Bye's

M3salaama
fi amanillah
Salaam
Ila-liqa
Wada3an

Its ahlan not a7lan.....simply because the number 7 here will represent the letter ح while we need the letter ه here


Adding to what you say, we can use also for goodbyes:
wada3an = farewell
 
Right =D I've always spelt it like that. Some people spell it like Ah7lan... don't know what if thats correct?

How could I forget Wada'an. :/ Theres another one for hello's khaleeji people say I don't know what it is... something like guwa? :X

If its spelt like ah7lan then it will be written like this: أهحلاً!!! It has to be أهلاً

Immm....that is mostly used in Kuwait, Saudi, Qatar I guess. Its coming from قوة means may you get strength or something like that....more like may you be always in a good shape....because when you said "guwa" to someone, the reply comes like الله يقويك

hmmm not sure... But when i hear people say it they say it with a ج and not with a ق. Or its the still the same but different accent?
