Found another word, but it isn't Swedish..loq

It's Finnish

lentokonesuihkuturbiinimoottoriapumekaanikkoaliups eerioppilas

This means "apprentice corporal, working as assistant mechanic in charge of airplane turbine engines". Finally I can stop referring to them as "those guys" when I point them out to my friends!

:w:

what about

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosious

we had to spell that in gr. 4, and I still remember! :)

:OMG: toooooo long!!
how many rests on can take while pronouncing the word?? OR otherwise one will fall dead due to shortage of Oxygen in the middle of the word! LOL

Or perhaps smiles is the longest word — after all, there is a mile between the first letter and the last.
Or maybe elastic, because it stretches?

Ok, sorry.. I'll leave this thread now.

^ I mean right? I"m guessing that the students of that class turned out with exemplary spelling skills!!

Since we are on this, can anyone tell me the longest single word in the Quran?

Its all very well that we know all this, but when it comes to the Quran, we sadly lack alot of knowledge.

Well.... in my own defence.... I didn't know until I came across this thread...
Erm.... still don't know the answer to your question though.

Do me a favor and grab a medical dictionary believe me, the toughest words you'll find there is the medical terminology. I'm quite positve the first word is medical.

alhamdullah, I am blessed to be too old for school and none of you will every be one of my teachers and give me a spelling test.

The longest word on planet earth is the name of the tryptophan synthetase A protein. It's 1,913 letters long. Guiness only refers to the word rather than waste a couple of pages offering it, but I got it off the internet. You ready?

The word is

methionylglutaminylar......................
what type of chemical is this?

what is it use for?
