Talking about elders, many of us still have our senior family members within our homes or nearby. It is amazing how some of them manage to live alone and be self-sufficient in a way where they can do everything for themselves, and that in itself is a great bounty from Allah swt.

Then there are those who need attention, some less, some more, to get their day to day tasks done for them. We should ask ourselves how much are we doing for our precious older family members. It goes without saying that even those who are self-sufficient, still need that daily interaction from their families and the community in order to keep cheerful and mentally well.

So this is just a kind reminder, that take good care of them and shower them with love while they'r still with us. Their duas are precious and Allah swt will reward us for taking care of them.

It is reported from Hadhrat Abdullah ibn Amr:ra: that Rasulullah:saws: said,

"He who does not show mercy to our little ones or recognize the rights of our elders, is not one of us." -- Hadith in Musnad Ahmad.

Therefore, showing love and kindness to young and old - is part of Islam, subhanallah.

True ...As when our parents are getting old we are so consumed in our own affairs and lives we donot Realize they are getting old too.Similar is the case with grandparents or elderly who need respect and time as they shower you with gems of wisdom and Duas .Nowadays many teens and kids are not taught to respect elderly and they always question authority and demand there own ways but it's important to teach them manners and ettiquetes of interacting with elderly as everyone is going to get old one day.May Allah guide us all.
