Can someone please advise me what procedure is...
Alhamdulillah, I recently married and although mahr was given on the marriage certificate, I haven't received a penny from my husband. He said that he would give this to me in the form of furniture, things for the home etc. I know he doesn't have a great deal of money, but I don't know whether or not he is doing the right thing and whether I should raise the matter with him. It's not the money that counts, but the principle and intention.
