Making up voluntary fasts

As Salamu Alaikum sisters and brothers,


As far I know it is permissible to make missed Sunnah Prayer (for example one overslept them) but how is it with voluntary fastings? For example, if a person had been sick today and couldn't fast (or didn't know about the Sunnah or whatever reason), is it permissible to make up this fast? Like making up obligatory fasting.
