Malay Language for beginners....

Sudah lama saya tak bersinggah ke ruangan ini. Berapa ramai lagi Malaysian yang ada di LI nih?

kak syilla, north_malaysian masing2 apa khabar?

:sl:

I wonder that why nobody wanna talk about recent Hindraf demonstration...

I support freedom of speech which includes peaceful demos....

I really glad that Bersih rally was somehow successful

Then came Hindraf rally, they're just sending a petition to UK Hi-Comm for Queen Eli II to appoint counsel to file a suit against UK bla...bla...bla
Then... it's kinda fine

But after watching Al Jazeera, TV3, RTM etc...

I've seen British flags... and a banner "Queen, Save Malaysian Indians"... suddenly I feel so upset and mad.... are the Indians really being discriminised totally that they have to ask a Queen of a foreign country to save them?

I felt betrayed..... we gave them a nation... citizenship... opportunities... and they claimed they're suppressed.... gimme a break... yeah, minorities are discriminated but not to the extend that the Queen have to interfere with the minority affairs...

If the Indians are discriminated, then who owns Maxis, Astro, Air Asia?

And yeah... Indians formed 8% of the population, but 1/3 of Malaysian lawyers are Indians... and lots of Indians are doctors and traders too..

I've been to several blogs, and angrily read comments written by our fellow "Malaysians". They cursed the Malays... they blamed the Malays for everything.

Some people need to remind them... that if the British dont bring them here... they might spending their lifetime living in India....

IF THEY REALLY DONT LIKE IT HERE.... WE CAN SPONSOR SOME SHIPS TO BRING THEM BACK TO MOTHER INDIA... IF... INDIA STILL ACCEPTING THEM.

I'm not talking about Indian nationalities...

But I'm talking about Malaysian Indians who supported the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf)...

I'm not against demonstration as it's part of the freedom of speech.

I'm against the demolitions of any houses of worships whether it's a mosque, a temple or a church.

I believe that many Malaysian Indian communities are marginalised and discriminated by the current government.

I support equal right of Malaysians regardless of their ethnic groups or religious creeds.

But what made me dissapointed:

1) Hindraf says that the Malays are doing ethnic-cleansing to the Malaysian Indians. I've got lots of Indian friends... I've been eating with them, laughing with them, playing with them, dozens of them visit my house on Eid this year. How on earth I participate in ethnic cleansing?

2) They want British citizenship. The Malay ancestors agreed to give Malayan citizenship to Indians and Chinese if Islam remains Official Religion and Malays obtain some special rights. Since then, lots of Indians became educated and successful as Malaysians. Their ancestors are very loyal to the country and the King. Suddenly they're demanding British citizenship (I wonder why they dont ask for Indian citizenship)... it's a betrayal to the country.. they're disloyal to the King. Now the ultra-nationalists are campaigning to revoke the Hindraf members citizenship.

3) Those Hindraf members failed to assimilate and integrate in the Malaysian society. They only think about themselves as Indians not as Malaysians.

I'm really pissed off :raging:

We had this issue here too. Its a men thing. You should not be sooo upset because they want only double citizenship from a country which could give them also certain facilities.

Here we have a hungarian minority borned in Romania, so they have 0 connections with our neighbour Hungary. In 2004 when Hungary became a member of EU our hungarians asked for citizenship to can travel without passport in EU. Off course they got the citizenship and the other romanians got offended why this minority got certain advantage and they don't. The issue its forgot now but than everyone shouted its not fair :giggling:

I think they have noticed certain facilities-and you should not consider like betrayal.

Malaysia prouds of herself being a multicultural, multiracial, multireligious and multilingual ... as the tagline says... "Malaysia Truly Asia"... but in reality it's really a fragile and young country.

We eat together, we work together and have fun together... but deep inside are really suspicious of each other.... but we never express them.... I think maybe we are really united as Malaysians...

And then comes Hindraf..... and the Indian express their miseries to the whole world..... How they hate it here... they hate the Malays...they even accusing of Malays doing ethnic cleansing in this country....

Luckily, I am not a Nationalist.... but I'm not surprised if some idiots (ultra-nationalists) managed to turn this event into a racial riot thingy....

I don't know all the facts but i always sustain the gentle nature of indians :-[ It must be here something else. I don't see how could so calm people like the malaysians and indians to turn some shoutings in riot.
