Memorizing hadiths

Salaam alaikum guys,

What the best way of memorizing hadiths?

do u all think its better to know the content of the ahadith? or u think its better to learn background of the sahabah like whos who and when they embraced islam that is to go by the chronological order of islam itself?

Best way for me is to remember the context of the hadith, because when a situations arises, or someone asks questions which is similar to the context of the hadith, you can remember the hadith much easier. Personal view
