Mercy and Admonishment

Greetings and peace be with you Serinity;



You ask, 'who will' and the most important answer is, who will take any notice. Most of us on this forum like giving advice, but I sense very few of us take any advice, sadly this makes us hypocrites. If I thought for one moment that speaking out would make a difference, then yes, speak out.

I always sense the greater challenge is to try and change ourselves, and not try and change other people.

In the spirit of praying for the wisdom and strength to do God's will.

If none takes the initiative, we are just letting evil let loose. Yes I know one has to look inside themselves, and not judge others while forgetting oneself.

If you see rapists run around raping people are you going to be like "I look at myself, myself first, I am not perfect"? NO, you are going to condemn them, and speak out against them.

Lets not become like the Israelites who sat and did nothing to forbid evil, they saw their close friends, and others in society doing EVIL, yet they did nothing.

And did you know? A pious man was in a city, and Allah commanded the Angels to destroy that city, the Angels went back and said "But there is a pious praying person".

Allah commanded the Angels to start the destruction with that man, why? Because he did not spread Islam or forbid evil. In other words. If a sin becomes prevalent it WILL affect society, not just you.

One must forbid evil, and stop the spread of evil, as best as he can, cuz otherwise we are all going to pay and be asked as to why we did not warn eachother.

I agree with you, but truthfully, how will this intolerance influence change?

we shouldn't tolerate evil, at all. But that doesn't mean we become insensitive of the person. It is out of CONCERN we are harsh against injustice, and firm and against any sin.


we are not about "judging" people, as we too are sinners, but this doesn't detract from the fact that we have to condemn, and we can not tolerate evil.


Intolerance for evil WILL bring change. This doesn't mean hating the sinner personall.

It seems that religious people are being branded as hateful and intolerant people, sadly we seem to be loosing the moral high ground.

Being disgusted, hating homosexuality, and detesting it is labelled as "Hate speech" truthfully, it is but stating the truth - we hate it. Loving those who do it, for doing it, and tolerating those who do it, for doing it, however, is WRONG, as it sends a wrong message. As if we "tolerate" homosexuality - we do not.


Who cares about appeasing to disbelievers who only seek pleasure? Would you say the same to a mass psycho murderer who cares not? "tolerate" him? "love" him?


Just to be straight - AFAIK - anyone can correct me - but our hatred, our aversion to sin, and our speaking out against - should be out of CONCERN not hatred.


Sadly nowadays, hating homosexuality and being disgusted at it is deemed "homophobic" then, by the same logic, being disgusted and hateful against serial killers is "killerophobic".


Sins define you - it tells about you. If one does evil, we will try to stop him doing it, otherwise we are not helping him.


A question tho: Is hate the sin not sinner an Islamic concept? And if it is, how far does it stretch?


we do/should show compassion and mercy. we do not hate them personally, but because we hate the sin they do, we want them to stop. It is out of enmity and hatred for the sin, and out of mercy and compassion a Muslims should prevent evil.
