Also, the Mughals were not Pathans. The Mughals did have lots of Pathans in their military though (as did every empire in the region).

Along with Punjabis, Pathans have historically made up the bulk of soldiers used by empires in the region. There's a reason the British always tried to recruit Punjabis and Pathans into their military.

Nader Shah considered himself a Sunni, and he displayed this by making it illegal to insult the Sahabah (May Allah Be Pleased With Them) and his crown with 4 points was allegedly meant to show his devotion to the first 4 Caliphs (May Allah Be Pleased With Them). He was only raised a Shia.

Although, to be honest, I don't even know if he counts as Muslim considering he was a nationalist jahil who attacked other Muslims and completely massacred them, whilst taking all their wealth. He also idolised Alexander of Macedon and was so cruel that his own family killed him themselves.
