my father died / went to Akhira in Ramadan

my father died in ramadan in one of the last ten days. The Janazah has been done in Ramadan.

Please make dua. JazakAllah khayran.

he didn't pray tho, is there hope for him? he couldn't fast cuz he had diabetes.

Allahu alam when he really died. Idk. Either 9th or 10th Idk

I have not tasted what it would be like to have a father in my house, but I believe fathers are the most underappreciated, undervalued, under respected parent on Earth. Good, compassionate fathers rocks and they have an enormous...ENORMOUS influence to the development of child in ways that no super woman or super mom can ever achieve in her life time...even if they all united as one pulsating brain. Fathers are irreplaceable and essential. May Allah (Subhanahu Wa Talaa) raise him high in Jannah ameen.

I am sure if my father was alive and he played with me, picked me up, made me laugh, played rough with me and taught me how to be a man I would have being married at age 20..have lots of children..be a complete different person that I am now and would have had so much confidence no person can come close to me. Even physically I would have being different and not walking blob of jelly as I am now.

Abu Hurairah (r.a.) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:"When a person dies, his deeds are cut off except for three: Continuing charity, knowledge that others benefited from, and a righteous son who supplicates for him."

I am so neglectful to my father! I have not being doing dua for him and I have never met him. I never had the pleasure to my put head on his chest as he stroked my hair when I was a kid :hmm: I am such a bad person. Insha'allah in my prayers I will make dua for him and be a better Muslim.

Walaikum salam was rahmatullah wa barakatuhu. Only Allah knows best your father's situation. Dying in Ramadan is supposed to be a good thing for a Muslim. If your father left any money or property, you are required to pay fidya from it. That is a a poor person has to be fed for one day for each fast he missed. The amount is less if you donate to Muslims in poor countries. You and your relatives should do nafl, voluntary, salat with the intention that the reward goes to your father. Also, you and your father's relatives should donate to masajid, hospitals and Islamic schools on your father's behalf so that he can receive continuing reward as those are sadaqa jariya, continuing charity. If your father had enough money to do Hajj but he didn't do it, you have to do it or have someone else do it on his behalf. Visit his grave and make dua for him. "Fortress of the Muslim" has a beautiful dua for visiting graves. May Allah have mercy upon your father and all Muslims, male or female, alive or dead.

Ramadhan is the most auspicious time to die, Alhamdulilah perhaps he was very good hearted person. You must pray for his magfirath and do good things for Allah and dua to Allah to grant those virtues to him.

Allah will inshallah reunite familes who died on eemaan. Do Sabur , and inshallah Allah's time will heal this wound in your heart,Every one has to go to the same place, ONE DAY, inshallah.

Did he never pray, or just rarely? Also, was it because of neglect or inability?

I'm sorry about the passing of your dad. Inna lillahi wa inna illahi rajioon. May Allah grant him rahmaa ameen.

It's really difficult to be going through what you're going through. I suggest that you recognize that his judgement is with Allah now so there's no benefit in us speculating about his fate. Never stop making du'a for him and make sadaqa on his behalf often. The good thing about death is that sins can no longer be committed. We can make sadaqa and make du'a for them to help them accumulate deeds forever. Someone can be destined for hellfire and by the sadaqa and du'a we do on his behalf, his final abode can very well be jannah. And if your father was destined for jannah anyway inshallah, then his rank in jannah can be raised by Allah's will, and the punishments of the grave lessened through the efforts of you and your family inshallah. If he had friends, try to honor them as well, and take care of your mom and siblings if you have any. I hope Allah eases your family's pain and replaces it with something better ameen.

As per hadiths we have to avoid to discuss the sin or mistakes of any dead Muslim Brother and its said they had paid for through their death.

Let me remind of a relative of mine who started his teens as a regular prayer of salah and left it out and started some salah before his death but had a beautiful death in ramadhan with shahadha and was 65 plus . Most of regular salah doers were perplexed and we started discussing good aamal he had done.

The best aamal of his which people remembered is while he was in teens he used to serve his family (as he lived in a village ) by filling water to his family. He always helped his wife and family with cooking etc and he onced had to go REALLY terrible 7-8 years of unimaginable work in overseas (cooking ) to give a good life to his family again .
