God surely spoke to Moses in Hebrew on that occasion. I will do as you suggest and ask the Jews what they call God and what the name means.
.

Great.. glad we are in concordance, if you don't like it broken down etymologically on Arabic, then let it be broken down to you in Hebrew.. perhaps then you'd see that the concoction you value is nothing but a man-made heretical sect of an already questionable monolithic religion!

I believe based on knowledge that is sound as well based on faith.. blind faith in totality will render men blind!

all the best

can't really do much, non-muslims need their misconceptions answering during ramadhan as well

the King James Version (used here) designates the Hebrew name Jehovah (or Yahweh) with "LORD" spelled with all letters capitalized; Adonai, meaning "Lord" or "Master," is designated by "Lord;" and "Elohim," is translated as "God." Thus, in Duet. 4:35, for example, the phrase "the LORD he is God," would be literally translated, "Jehovah, he is Elohim." (In those instances were Adonai is used as a compound with Jehovah, the latter term is spelled GOD, so that the compound name "Lord GOD" designates the Hebrew, "Adonai Jehovah").

Jehovah is the same as Yahweh and that explained above in post number 24...

anyway,Allah doesn`t have only one name but many names and attributes (All Praise and Glory Be to Allah) and
it is completely wrong to ask what is the real name of Allah? cause its like asking what is the real color of the rainbow
(wise words I read for a christian writer )...

I do not believe that (Jesus peace be upon him ) is God or the son of God ( All Praise be to Allah) but what I read here is so wise and logic and the writer is a christian...

so here you are my respected brother Hiroshi read your brother in faith post:

Monolith means: "one stone". What do you mean by a "monolithic" religion?

I am not seeking a argument. I am trying to avoid any controversy here. I only asked: where, if at all, does the Qur'an state that Allah is a name? And the answer has been covered.

Thanks. I had a look at your link. God is called lots of things, both in the Qur'an and in the Bible. But I would give this final comment that "Jehovah" (or "Yahweh") occurs nearly 7,000 times in the Bible. This is many more times than any other Bible name. And the term "God" only occurs 4,473 times -- far fewer times than "Jehovah". It goes against all the evidence to say that "Jehovah" is a word of little importance, as some have insisted.

Anyway my respected friends, let us please drop the discussion until after Ramadan.

Monolithic religion means a religion with one god.(I think)

Monotheistic means one God. Monolithic means one stone. The confusion comes about as some religions use the term monolithic to mean they have a single foundation. But, technically the term Monolith as used by them would mean they only worship one stone idol.

To clarify better (or confuse more)

The gigantic obelisks in Egypt are monoliths as they were carved from a single stone. The Pyramids are polylithic as they are made of many stones.

Poly= Greek for many

Mono=Greek for one

Lithos= Greek for stone

Theos=Greek for god

Now let us return to the original topic and stay on topic which was about the names of the Prophets(PBUT)

Monolith means: "one stone". What do you mean by a "monolithic" religion?

It isn't really difficult to apply an abstract thought here? a Monolithic religion is one that doesn't share common ground with any other, like Zoroastrianism-- you can't for instance allege to be an Abrahamic religion and have positively nothing in common with other Abrahamic religions.
Not in the name of God, or the number of God, the rituals practiced etc.

Christianity in essence is a monolithic religion that has nothing in common with the path of Abraham, further compounded by the calamities of a thousand heretical sect, from which you represent one even more distilled in its monolithic beliefs!

Hope that breaks it down to its most singular components for you!

:lol:
Don't you think that little pearl 'oh he' as the sacred name wouldn't have been lost on nearly four billion people (the sum of Muslims/Christians/Jews) of which you are a negligent 7 million?
You can't answer the question of what language your god spoke, you haven't addressed Dr. Deedat's post on page one, and you haven't bothered read direct verses from the Quran, where Allah swt calls himself Allah (or other names listed) and you have the audacity to protest that your queries haven't been answered?
You should reflect back and seek to understand why you are showing so much resistance in spite of the overwhelming response to you including from other Christians.

good luck with all of that!
